The Museum of Medical Science opened in the Houston Museum of Natural Science opened on November 16, 1969, and it remained there for 21 years. The current museum facility opened on March 16, 1996, as The Museum of Health & Medical Science. The building housing the museum, the John P. Super fun to go to for both kids and adults. Their free day was not as long as the other museums so my friend and I had to pay to go in but it was only $10. It has some pretty cool exhibits as well as some fun games/activities for younger audiences. The most recent time I went the theme was Biorhythms. It was pretty cool but not my favorite because their wasn't as much to do. If you can try to go when they have the 'Bodies' on display. Super cool if you are interested in medical/A&P stuff.

I love museums, but this museum is absolutely my favorite! I am very much into health and fitness so this museum is perfect for me. The exhibits are interactive. The cell lab is a lot of fun and gives you the chance to get hands-on experience. The lectures are top notch. The price is very reasonable. This is the best museum in Houston!

Amazing! Went with my six year old and that day, on spring break Thursday. Even do busy was amazingly well put together. To top it off that day they had a real human brain amongst other activities. My son loved it!

People are nice but the City of Houston can do soooooooo much better with the exhibits at this place. Major remodel and update is needed severely!!!!!! There is only one floor and about 3 exhibits and boom you’re done. It’s horrible. You can see everything when you walk through the door nothing is left to your imagination to explore or learn as you go in because like I said you can see it from the door. Very poorly designed. The human body takes decades to learn about and this all you have? Don’t waste your money I’m glad I went on Thursday it was free! Otherwise I would’ve been pissed you’re better off going to the science museum it is extremely cool and very nice!

Informative and interactive museum. People can interact with models that make learning fun. The biorhythm exhibit is very fun, I recommend it. There's also a lab, in which you get to do different experiments. One thing I would improve though is the fact that there are too little exhibits. Very fun though!

This museum is so underrated. It is a great place to take kids. The interactive exhibits spark fantastic conversations about health and the human body. It is educational while still recognizing children learn through play. I would love to see them expand.

This place is very much for children, which I apparently missed in researching prior to going. It's a fairly small place. We spent about 45 minutes there. There were some abstract exhibits, a hands on laboratory, a giant colon that doubles as an obstacle course, and other anatomy related exhibits. If you are taking small kids this is probably an okay place. As an adult, not so much. Apparently the giant heart has a heart attack every so often, but we didn't see it. There is also a small area with dinning tables and vending machines for parents to hide at.

Great place to spend 2 to 3 hours learning about health and the human body. The movie is certainly worth watching. I would visit here again when in Houston.

I imagine when this was nee and everything worked it was a blast for the kids. It is not however a place for adults, most especially seniors to waste a bus trip and basically all day to visit. Exhibits need to be fixed, cleaned and updated too. I am sure the kids are pretty hard on them.

Definitely geared towards families with young children. Admission was free when we visited, which was nice because we didn't stay there for very long. There were some interactions that adults could participate in as well. Informative about the human body. There were some technical issues with the video they played in the theater, and most of the audience left in the middle of the presentation.

Very informative and fun! The colossal colon was one of my favorite parts! There is a colossal heart that goes on cardiac arrest every 45 to 30 minutes and it's very interesting. I had fun testing how long I can hold my weight and also seeing how flexible I am! Also when I went there was a sound and hearing exhibit I believe it was from Ireland? it was informative, intriguing and interactive. I recommend for all age groups.

Very interesting and entertaining. Great get out for the kids especially. And very informative. If you care about your health and your kids health - it's a must visit!
