Love being able to have a local zoo, and even though there are multiple events held at the Indianapolis Zoo throughout the year, it would be great if there were more animal attractions. It's hard to justify an annual membership when you can easily see all the animals in a short two to three hour visit. This combined with the somewhat pricey tickets are slightly offsetting. The location is perfect, and the animal attractions that the Indy Zoo does have are great, but expanding the overall footprint and animal offerings would be a great way to make this awesome zoo even better.

Extraordinary zoo full of animal and botanical life! We love the gorgeous walkways through the zoo, the dolphin show, the train, and the dog show. The orangutan exhibit is absolutely amazing! The zoo hosts great events around Halloween and during the holidays. Before you go, buy tickets online - it's much cheaper! Still pretty pricey even with online pricing, so check their day-by-day pricing to find the best deals.

Environment was beautiful and full of happy polite people. One of the workers even stopped and took our picture because she saw us trying to take a one in front of some real pretty scenery. She said can I help you guys? You both look so happy and cute and need a good memorable picture. She took 4 just to make sure it met our approval. That's so Awesome there are still good people out there like her. I wish I knew her name so I could call in on her and let them know how awesome she is

Love the layout. A great assortment of animals. Want to go back to take my other son. Friendly staff, good food, a lots to enjoy for all ages. The dolphin show is fun and informative. Love the environmental emphasis as well. Wish other businesses would follow their lead.

Went for "Christmas at the Zoo", and had a great time! Was very impressed with all the decorating, and all the little events that they had going on. The dolphin show was great and really well performed. I highly recommend this event at one of they best zoos in the country! You can purchase you tickets online for a bit of a discount. It would make a great date night surprise for your significant other.

We love the zoo! It was the first really nice weekend of spring when we were there the last time. Consequently, it was very busy. We still thoroughly enjoyed the day and the animals. We were part of a specially arranged behind the scenes tour and got to meet with the elephant handlers and an elephant. It was an awesome experience! The orangatans we're at dinner so we didn't get to see them but otherwise we saw all our favorites and we enjoyed an ice cream at the West side Cafe. All in all a great visit!

I went to the Indianapolis zoo for the first time this April. It was a cool day and the animals were all fairly active. The layout of the zoo is amazing and the dolphin show is an incredible experience. I appreciated how much space each animal had in their exhibit, unlike many other zoos that tend to not give the animals enough room to roam and enjoy life. The walrus exhibit was one of my favorites, as the walruses wanted to put on their own little show for guests. We didn't have very much staff interaction, other than at the dolphin show, but what contact with them we did have, everyone was super friendly.

Love the zoo! Membership prices are affordable. We go often during the summers, especially for mothers day. The orangutan exhibit is wonderful - you have to go on the ride at least once (is a little pricey). The flamingos do a walk a few times a day - a must see! The walrus' are easy to miss, but they are so much fun and very interactive.

Fantastic experience! We enjoyed our adventure here! Plenty to do and see, family favorite was the dolphin show. Their habitats seem well maintained, great staff as well. Friendly and knowledgeable. This will be a return visit location when we come to town!

This zoo is fantastic! We tried going without a membership, but found that we missed going too much. It’s clean, and well-maintained. Our kids love going there. We appreciate that it’s open year-round. We enjoy the special holiday activities. They keep trying to improve it different exhibits, etc. (We miss the polar bear, though.) Don’t miss the dolphin show! Sit in the splash zone - especially on a hot Summer day. The desert exhibit is especially nice on cold days. We think the orangutans are the highlight - especially with the new babies. Unfortunately, it seems rare that all the rides are operational/open at the same time. The cheetah race never seems to be open. We miss the 4D movie, although we’re looking forward to a new exhibit. All in all, it’s well worth the money, and we wholeheartedly recommend a membership.

Loved the new macaw show. The animals were all active and looked happy. I absolutely loved feeding the birds and they sat on my hand and made for a perfect picture moment. I arrived to find the polar bear was gone and that was sad. The dolphin show was very cool. When we arrived at the park there were people there to take our picture and my boyfriend and I got a cute one with monkeys in the background. Overall a great day!

I love this place in the early spring and late fall, but in the summer the yellow jackets are so bad we never go. It's still worth the membership for the parts of the year we do go though. Our favorite parts are the dolphin tanks, the aquarium building and they love the desert building. Both playgrounds are super easy to keep an eye on the kids and it looks like they are adding a mist garden which looks really nice.

Nice interactive exhibits. However when we came none were being done. Dolphin show was tasteful. We purchased a refillable drink cup but there weren't many stations open to refill and it was very hot. Beautiful landscaping. We did have a pretty cool interaction with an orangatuan. Best part is they are completely private funded.

I love seeing all of the animals. The information that my kids and I receive is always great. I just wish that it was not so expensive. For 3 of us to eat it was over $60 and I only got a pre made sandwich and a refillable cup. And two other meals. It was so expensive. Then when we stopped by to get some small items from one of the gift shops, they don't give you bags to carry our stuff in. I get it is helping the earth, I do. They did offer a reusable bags for the low cost of... Another $5.
