The history of the wharf is interesting. Its ok for a look.
A almost forgotten place where history, land, water, recreation and nature all meet the old warf. The furthest up river the first ships would go and is without doubt the main reason Invercargill was settled where it is now.
Nice place for a walk or bike ride
The last piece of the remaining wharf has now been fenced off as unsafe, and I expect it will soon go the way as the rest of the wharf with just the stumps remaining. Still there is the replica of the wooden tracked train, but a long way out to go and see that. Soon I fear it will be RIP.
