Der Gülhane-Park (osmanisch گلخانه ‚Rosenhaus‘) ist ein Park in der Bosporus-Metropole Istanbul im Stadtteil Fatih. Er befindet sich innerhalb der äußeren zinnenbewehrten Mauern des Topkapı-Palastes und nimmt den westlichen Teil der Serailspitze ein. Geologisch liegt der Gülhane-Park auf dem Hang von Eminönü. Der Park ist gut an den öffentlichen Verkehr angebunden. Etwas nördlich des Gülhane-Parks befindet sich der Bahnhof Sirkeci, der Kopfbahnhof Istanbuls.
Der Gülhane-Park war einst Teil des äußeren Gartens des Topkapı-Palasts. Ein Teil des Gartens wurde im Jahre 1912 von der Gemeinde der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. War er früher ein Ort für ritterliche Spiele und Bogenschießwettbewerbe, so ist er heute ein bewaldeter Volkspark mit Livekonzertangeboten, Teegärten und weiteren typischen Angeboten. Die äußeren Mauern markieren in etwa die Begrenzungen des alten Byzantion. Neben dem Haupteingang, dem „Tor des kalten Brunnens“ (Soğuk Çeşme Kapısı), befindet sich auf einem Mauerturm der polygonale „Pavillon der Festaufzüge“ (Alay Köşkü), durch dessen Fenster der Sultan die Bewegungen vor der gegenüber liegenden Hohen Pforte, dem Amtssitz seines Großwesires, überwachen konnte. Den Pavillon in seiner heutigen Gestalt mit seinem Schweifdach ließ Sultan Mahmud II. 1819 restaurieren und gestalten. Der Alay Köşkü ersetzte einen Vorgängerbau des Sultans Murad III. Unter anderem von hier beobachteten die Sultane die prachtvollen Festumzüge und Paraden. Am berühmtesten waren die tage- oder wochenlangen Aufzüge der Kaufmannsvereinigungen und Handwerkerzünfte, die in jedem Jahrhundert nur ein- oder zweimal abgehalten wurden. So nahmen zum Beispiel 1637 an einem Umzug 1109 Zünfte teil, die auf Wagen farbenfrohe Darbietungen ihrer Künste boten und zuweilen karnevalesk ausfielen. Zuletzt fand eine solche Gesamtschau des Wirtschaftslebens unter Mustafa II. 1769 statt. Am 8. August 1928 verkündete Mustafa Kemal Atatürk auf diesem Platz die Einführung des türkischen Alphabets mit lateinischen Schriftzeichen. Seit 1970 beherbergt dieser Kiosk die Handwerksprodukte und Kunstwerke der Sammlung Kenen Ozbel.

Beautiful park nearby to many of the attractions. A lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of benches to sit and relax, or space on the grass to have a picnic. The cafe in the middle of the park offers snacks and drinks. The gardens and art are stunning. A good space to take a rest after a busy day in the city.
This park is very relaxing, it’s a must-visit when when it’s tulip season, as it gets filled with many types of tulips (I believe this year 2 million tulips were planted). It’s a very beautiful park with affordable restaurants in it. It has a somewhat limited view of the Bosporus.
The biggest park in Istanbul, and old and historic park that used to be part of the garden of the palace. Recently renewed, it has now bridges, thematic fountains, bronze statues, lots of benches to sit, public toilets and big trees that offer great shadow to rest. Definitely a beautiful place to walk.
Very pretty Park right in the middle of the City. We visited in early spring and tulips were in full bloom. They also have a nice restaurant and also a museum of the greatest Muslim scientists and examples of their contributions to humanity.
Amazing to visit especially in the afternoon. Relaxing to have seen all the greens and to just sit on the benches. It's the most famous part of the Istanbul and also old Ottoman empire. This is an old park which was used as the garden of Topkapı palas by the Ottoman sultans. If you visit Istanbul, you should go there. It's a good way of feeling the old city. Good for young people and good for tourists. Also, it is very popular for Turkish families
Loved the park. So peaceful and beautiful with plenty of spaces to sit and relax. Lots of picturesque sights with nice flowers and plants. Beautiful surrounding area and perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Grounds are immaculate and well kept and feel very safe. Definitely recommend visiting
This a very beautiful park. Gülhane Park was once part of the outer garden of Topkapı Palace. Its a well designed and well maintained park. The south entrance of the park sports one of the larger gates of the palace. It is the oldest and one of the most expansive public parks in Istanbul. Its about one KM park. Mostly from afternoon to evening time people are coming here to visit this beautiful park. The cure kids playing here and there in flowers will bring smile on your face.
Nice large garden with beautiful roses and long trees. You can enter there at any time with no entrance fees. .. It is near topkapi and sultan Ahmad yard... Inside it there is a Cafe, small kiosk and a unique museum of the history of science and technology in Islam ( museum entrance fees only 10 Tl)... A good choice for those who love nature, quietness and science 😉

Gülhane is one of the more beautiful parks in Istanbul. It is located just behind Hagia Sofia mosque. Grass here is green almost year round, and there are some pretty fountains in there too. It can get crowded during weekends, but overall it's very calm and relaxing. Highly recommended.
