A great little musuem right across the street from the Blue Mosque. Surprisingly uncrowded despite the location. Admission is included in the Musuem Card, so is worth a visit when you're nearby! The first floor is a large carpet exhibit and the second floor is a chronological timeline of Islamic art stretching back to the Prophet Muhammad's time. There's a courtyard with a great view of the Blue Mosque as well.

Lovely museum, very few crowds. Shows the chronology of Islamic history from the Umayyads to Ottomans with wonderful relics and artifacts. However, some eras such as the Fatimid dynasty, seem to be forgotten.

One of the most amazing and important places that should be visited. أروع متحف زرته في حياتي خصوصا أنه فيه مقتنيات رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

The collection includes notable examples of Islamic calligraphy, tiles, and rugs as well as ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey, particularly nomad groups. These displays recreate rooms or dwellings from different time periods and regions. The building was originally constructed in 1524 and it was formerly the palace of Pargalı Ibrahim Pasha, who was the second grand vizier (minister) to Suleiman the Magnificent.

Nothing extra ordinary, was hoping to see the works of master of miniature....Bihzad!!! I was surprised to see none is on display! Otherwise the way descibed the timeline of muslim empire in that region is really commendable

The museum of Islamic art has a great collection of religious artefacts and Qurans from the 7th century to the 18th. As it used to be a palace before it's conversion the museum premises themselves are historical and worth a viewing.

The palace, which is now used as the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Works, and named after the Parthian Damat Ibrahim Pasha, who is the second vizier of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, was previously known as "The Palace of the Square". In addition to many weddings, festivals and celebrations, Ibrahim Pasha Palace, which he wrote about being bigger and more magnificent than Topkapi Palace, was also the stage for mixed periods and rebellions and after the struggle of İbrahim Pasha in 1536, he was known with the same name. This historical palace, where you can see many beautiful examples of Turkish and Islamic art works together, is the first Turkish museum in this area.

Breathtaking place for Islamic history and art. Lovely and neat. I would surely go there again and you are better off buying the museum card of 5 days then you can see more of Istanbul. All in pass for almost 20 attractions would cost you 25 euros.

I think this is one of the best museums here in Istanbul. Not at all crowded and amazing artifacts. TIP - buy your Istanbul Museum pass here first thing in the morning and then avoid lines at all the popular places like Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace.

I really liked the chronological display setup of the art/artifacts throughout Islamic history. They also have a separate room which contains the beard hair and some of the belongings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The outside balcony area has a very nice view of the Sultanahmet Mosque. It's a must visit!

A very nice museum, hosting various ancient arabic carpets, writings and history. Its located in the tourist area of Sultanahmet just opposite from the famous Blue Mosque. There are various rooms to view various ancient and old historic items. The garden area overlooks the tourist square and the view overlooking the ancient town is absolutelt awe inspiring. A very nice museum to visit.
