Informative tour, beautiful bodega buildings and great tasting with 4 different drinks. I'm a sherry convert!
We were lucky, this is a great place to vist, and there wasn't a lot of people there at the time of our visit, very much recommended
One of the best sights in Jerez. Its walls, towers and gate makes it a complex defensive system. It's a Palace too. It dates back to the 12th Century of Almohade architectural style. It's original islamic features include : two gates, the mosque, the Arab baths, the octagonal tower and the Palace of the Patio of Doña Blanca. There's also the Homage Tower and the Villavcencio Palace and the oil mill.
A love fortress with fruit trees and gardens. The walls and towers give a nice view over the city of Jerez and the surrounding countryside. During our visit the mosque was closed for what appeared to be a Tio Pepe related filming which was a bit disappointing. While interesting and lovely in its own right it cannot compare with the Alhambra.
This is a must visit if you are in jerez or are planning to visit. A great step back in time that tells the story of Moorish influence in Andalusia.
Intersting fortress and a very old bulit olive oil machinery. The old pictures of Jerez flamenco festi val should not be missed
This is not as big as other famous alcazars in other cities but the structure is well conserved and the visit was very instructive. The towers and ruins were awesome but I was also quite impressed by the olive mill.
It's a small but very beautiful castle which has mixed architecture of Muslims and Christians, have small gardens which are build typical Muslim style with fountains which gives very beautiful impacts. Also have a mosque which was converted to church later on but still preserved the some part of it which was build around in 10th century and the most elegant things for me are the Arab Baths which were build very amazing they have amazing source of light and air. And the modern building which contains some very beautiful old paintings and specialy the since laboratory which is fabulous. The staff is very kind and helping.
