This place is made solely to attract tourists, and is not even finished. There is nothing genuine or historic about it. If we would have known we would not have gone here. Don't waste your time here - go to any beach, the jungle, ubud or go rafting instead. IF you by any chance choose to go here anyway, do NOT get the included meal ticket. The meal is a buffet that is generally tasteless and made as cheap as possible. Do see the included dance shows, as it is kinda cool to see the cultural heritage in action. However, not worth to go here even if only for the dance shows.
One of the places that you have to visit when in Bali. One of my whislists and thank God I made it!
Amazing! Can be pretty hot during the day so don't forget to pack for hats or umbrella. Food is not allowed pass the entrance but they do provide food stalls with different options. There are also performances which I personally think a great way to introduce culture to the kids. Overall a great place to learn and sightseeing
A good place for family vacation in Bali. There's not much to see but the statue and some attraction. You should wait for the 18:30 Kecak Dance at the Amphitheater. The photo spot worth the price in some way but since there's not much to see, the place can be a boring after so soon. You can also find food court inside, but considering the fact that there's close to zero attraction, the price was not actually reasonable. It's still a good weekend runaway if you're local, but you should opt for other place to visit if you're just visiting the town.
You can enjoy the culture of Bali here, such as drama, traditional dance etc. Then you can enjoy the animation story of Garuda Wisnu Kencana. It's a good place for enjoy the vacation with family. Then it's also a good place for us to learn about the local wisdom and about how to respect the local culture, such as a temple. But, the tourist sometimes disrespect it. They also put the rubbish not in a trash and then smoking on the temple. Even, the warning is written there. I hope you all can be wiser again if you go there. Thanks
Was looking for more of a museum. This place is very big, and the entry fee is steep (125k) but when I went the only things to see were 3 statues, a vast courtyard and a traditional dance (for which there was no explanation). Plus 10 restaurants, gift shops, etc. It looks like there are days when there is a lot more going on so I would look for those (festival days). I wouldn't make a separate trip to see this unless you want to spend the whole day watching dances and eating. The statue under construction is enormous and visible from Tanah Lot and beyond. Designed by a local Balinese man and all the construction seems to be taking place locally (including fabricating the copper panels) which I thought was cool.
----- A place to visit if you are in Bali. Here you will find the statue of Lord Vishnu and the statue of Garuda. You can also see the Garuda Wisnu Kencana project (the statue in which Lord Vishnu rides Garuda) under construction and will be completed this year (2018). This is a great photo spot, so do not hesitate to come here.
Nice kachek dance performance but the monuments are so so. Can we given a miss. Once the bigger monument is complete, this place would like even better. One of the less touristy places in Bali. If you have extra time to explore Bali, do visit this place....
This large site need a better maintenance. Many of the bathrooms were dirty and barely usable. Some of the performances were also rather sad (they hire youngsters kids to 'have fun' instead of real performers) --if you want to watch the real cultural dances, Ubud offer better experiences.
This place only exists to take money from visitors. 100k is way too much for what you get out of it, even if they do give you a warm glass of iced tea for no additional cost. You can wander around, enjoy a great view of Bali from the south end, see two or three interesting statues, and watch a performance with terrible audio blasting away. "Hey Garuda, I get it: You yell a lot. Now can you please turn down the speakers by fifty percent?" Once inside, there was a short line of people waiting to have their picture taken in front of a green screen. A staff member directed us to this line. I asked if we had to and was told yes. Not exactly a shock, they tried to sell us that picture when we left. Any place that forces you to exit through their (highly overpriced) gift shop is far more about making money than representing a given history, religion, or culture.
Built for tourists. Large sculptures with a few basic gardens. Great large rock walls. Tourists shops and that's it. Sorry not worth the entrance fee. I found the driveway leading there with a cool path much nicer with bronze animals and free!
I am extremely proud of this site. Seeing the majestic art, in the middle of the mountain. So extraordinary and beautiful. So many beautiful spot for selfie or practice your photography skills. The food are great as well. The dance perform every day and every hour. My kids love it, as well as my husband and I. It also quite cheap for an extraordinary experience
One of the strangest places i have ever been. Appears to be an old mine (i think) which someone once with quite a bit of cash had a VERY grand dream about. Its still under construction though im not sure the final product will make any more sense looking at the models. The cliff side restaurant is lovely and the cultural shows as worth the entry fee. Id call it a homage to tourism is anything. If you have some time to spare go but dont make it a priority.....or a whole day.
This place is still under construction. We liked the grand entrance and the grand statues of Vishnu and Garuda. The monument when completed will also stand out for sure. The musical performance at 1pm was under-whelming for this kind of place.
Garuda is a new park. At the morning you can find here yoga classes and other sports activities. Big spaces, not crowds yet. At the evening many Indonesian young people come here for talking, playing, social something )) Nice place.
The place is very big. There's statue of legend in Hindu religion. The statue aren't complete yet but the piece of it was very big. I can't imagine how big it is when it's done! I think it'll be over 100feet!
Amazing statue. The walls are incredible the park is a fair price (even if there is a foreigner price) a great place to see. *be prepared to wear a skirt to cover pants in some area (they have it on site for free)
Had buffet meal at the restaurant, it was very nice. Nice grounds to walk around, a temple beside Lord Vishnu, magnificent Garuda and cultural shows. Unfortunately, the main structure has not been completed yet. When it is completed, the Garuda and Lord Vishnu will be moved to main structure and can be seen from miles away. I believe it will be awesome.
Idk why this place isn't publicized as much as it should be. Most travel agents wouldn't include it in their packages. I went there with my wife during out trip to Bali and 'impressive' is an understatement. The park is huge with a lot of shows, plays and activities throughout the day. Must visit. A nice venue to take a lot of memorable pictures(and create memories as well) I must say.
