Its a outstanding architectural building an one of the best landmarks in Kiev. This building have a bell tower and house of metropolitan. Its foundation was laid in 1037 according to history. I was there on 1 Nov 2018 and it was closed for renovation. This cathedral complex was originally a burial place of the Kieven rulers.

The cathedral was erected on the highest top of Kiev. The cathedral was the center of socio-political and cultural life. The cathedral is never completely destroyed. Be sure to go inside. Inside, it's very beautiful and you can climb to the top. Exelent view!!!

Beautiful, beautiful cathedral. Walking around the grounds was fun. Our favorite part was going up the bell tower at the entrance. The feel was 20 greevna to go up the bell tower, and 10 greevna to enter the grounds. You can also pay more to get into the museums that they have, but we just didn't have time. The bell tower is quite high, and we were a bit tired by the time we got to the top (the stairs are steep), but the views from the top were certainly worth it.

Very interesting place - a historical building that is integral to Kiev from its first settlement times. It was raided by the Mongols and has been partially restored, which makes for a good contrast of old/new to see the differences. They have some art exhibitions as well, which are worth taking a look at - especially the Easter Egg composition!

Cost is 100 griven to visit the church. To see only place around it costs 20 griven. I totally recommend to go inside to see how beautiful it is. Sophia is absolutely marvelous. There are graves of famous people inside, paintings by Vrubel, beautiful mosaics and much more. There are several interesting exhibitions on second floor. It is probably the most interesting place in Kiev to see.

This cathedral was built 11th century, the oldest church of Kyiv that survived. It was somewhat rebuilt on the exterior in 17th century, but all the walls, the interior, frescoes, etc. dates back to 11th century. It's definitely worth visiting, the atmosphere inside is magic.

The place is historical and preserved but its transform an income machine. U have to pay money for each building. U have to buy different tickets to see Bell tower, territory area, main cathedral builds, etc.

A cathedral that has stood the test of time since centuries. The UNESCO has included it in its heritage list. Thanks to the historians and cultural activists for dissuading the erstwhile Soviet Government from demolishing it as a part of their anti religious campaign. Now its been called as one of the seven wonders of Ukraine. Apart from the cathedral building the whole complex consists of Bell Tower, house of the Metropolitan, refectory, bursa, and so on to make one feel at home. The entry is fee based.
