If you are in Kiev you have to see this monument. It's huge! The sculpture is a part of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War and symbolizes the feat accomplished by people during the war. Total height is 102 meters, weight is 500 tonnes, sculpture height is 62 meters. The sculpture "Motherland" is a unique whole-welded metal structure consisting of three layers: the basic steel carcass weighing more than 280 tonnes, the auxiliary carcass with plating of 108 tonnes and one and a half millimeter stainless steel coverage weighing 90 tonnes, which is made of 27 large-tonnage blocks.

Well, a must visit when you are Kiev, the view of the city doesn't get better than this, plus in winter there are very less tourist's so it can get as calm as it can. There is enough space for parking and the time was very well spent indeed.

Amazing area, park to visit for sure if you are in Kiev, made in CCCP to celebrate the second world war, beautiful wall statues and tank museum, require minimum 1 h to be there, suggested to arrive from the main road of city. Place to show to all family as very educative.

Outstanding I haven't visited recently but I have went a couple months ago but I wanted to write a review since it was outstanding. Firstly, on the way to the Rodina Mat there are lots of old military vehicles and pieces that are decommissioned. In front of it there are tanks that are allowed to be climbed on which is a bonus. The Rodina Mat also has a museum which is excellent at expressing WW2 and how harsh it was. Great historical pieces to look at. Absolutely wonderful.

Its one of most beautiful places in Ukraine. There is really beautiful and long way through to monument from road. During your trip to The Monument, you can see really beautiful view of Dnipro River, old weapons and some sculptures. In the night, lights of city are shining really nice. There is bridge-like building near the Monument. There are a lot of paintings which describes soldiers and people. You can climb inside of Monument in day time. She is on the top of the must-see places. Have a nice visit!

A big place depicting the freedom struggles of Ukraine. This is the symbol of an independent and strong Ukraine. The main monument is a beautiful thing to watch. Also, the war museum and art gallery are very good. One comes to know about the brave and selfless soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the freedom for this beautiful land. It is a spectacle to watch while a transit from nesrby places.

Impressive Communist-era statue installed amidst other commemorative monuments to the fighters of the Second World War. The statue is larger than life and a very good example of Soviet spirit and ideology. It is said that there is a flame that is only lit in highly revered occasions as the consumption of natural gas is immense - regardless of this, the Motherland monument is a must visit for anyone visiting Kiev!

I went to see The Motherland Monument on a blue sky day. Not a single cloud was in the sky, and the sun was shining perfectly upon her. It is a truly magnificent sight, and the three tanks in front of her are a nice touch. There is also a nice panoramic view across the river.

Huge monument in memory of the world wars. The statue is amazingly big, pictures don't show the true size. The area in general is very interesting and at the time I were there you could also see all sorts of weapons, tanks, artillery and more, which was used in the wars. Amazing to see the huge amount of different vehicles. Didn't expect there to be so many. Worth a visit if you are in Kiev.

It is huge and monumental, like the Soviet Union was. It is a good time travel back to the eighties. There is a nice view to the city too.
