Tivoli, also known as Tivoli Gardens, is an amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the third-oldest operating amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg, also in Denmark, and Wurstelprater in Vienna, Austria.

We loved our experience at this amusement park. They have unusual (at least for us) rides such as flying chairs which are great. For many of the big rides, you need to have your pockets emptied even though they have zips, so something to keep in mind depending on how you want to make your plan. However, they do provide simple spaces to store your items just for the time of the ride and you can also spend more to rent a locker. There are several spots to eat as well. The park with all the lighting is an experience by itself to look at if you stay late (the park closes around 23:00 or midnight depending on the day).
This is really just an amusement park with rides. There are some nice flowers but if neither of those things are your cup of tea then there's really not much of a reason to come here. There are however some great outlets at the eatery on the boundary of the park though and you don't need a ticket to get into them, just the park itself. So, if you are a bit of a foodie then it's worth visiting the food hall but you won't need a ticket to get into these eateries.
I've been in many amusement park. This was so far Best. Atmosphere very good, staff extremely friendly. Much friendlier than everywhere else. Best attractive roller coaster, which is soon 100 years old. And weather was about 3 degree Celsius. Fabulous.
When we arrived in Copenhagen, Tivoli Gardens was closed, as they were redoing it for the Christmas season. However, we got lucky. On our last night, we happened to walk past and find that it had opened as a trial night, where guests pay a flat entry fee (which is a little bit more than the normal entry fee) and all the rides are free. Needless to say we took full advantage! The rides were fun and diverse, the staff were friendly and helpful and we came home with several stuffed animals. Highly recommend a visit to anyone visiting Copenhagen. If you can, try and get there between seasons and get in for the trial night, it was well worth it. Not all the rides are open on this night, but most were, and do you ever really get to try every ride?
An absolutely amazing visit to Tivoli Gardens. A fantastic theme park to enjoy for all. Got an unlimited pass and certainly got my moneys worth as you can keep going on the same rides as many times as you want. Especially beautiful at night and just before closing they have a brilliant laser music and water show. Can't comment on the food as Didn't want to eat due to some of the rides been stomach churning. But my friend said the good was OK.
Tivoli is great. The park is fun and always decorated for something or other. The rides are actually pretty thrilling (Vertigo is an awesome one!) and worth trying out! That said, Tivoli is also pricey. We have silver cards that allow us to enter all year and bring a friend, and that's turned out to be a good deal since we've taken a lot of guests. Nevertheless, the ride tickets can be expensive. If you plan on riding more than two of the big rides, just buy the all day pass.
Amazing amusement park.. I literally felt as if I were in a fairy tale. The park was ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Light show at the end of the night was the perfect way to end a perfect day. Nice ride selection.. Great food options.
I just love Tivoli and have since I was a child. It's a magical place! As a tourist don't specifically go there for the rides since most modern amusement parks will have much bigger, wilder and fancier rides. But the gardens themselves are amazing and it's just a fantastic place to be especially in the evening when you can really see all the lights.
Nice enough place. Not as much local charm as I was led to believe. Expensive! Costs to get in and to ride. Paid $15 U.S. for one ride. Also, there was nowhere to refill water bottle on a hot day. Not cool. Still worth seeing if you have kids.
Tivoli is a legendary old school amusement park. Is good as it gets. Great rides, great food, great service. A bit on the expensive side but that's to expect in the absolute center of copenhagen. I would have given a 5 star rating but I feel it has lost a bit of its charm because of modernization and renovations. Still if if amusement parks is your thing. This is the place to go in Copenhagen.
Tivoli Gardens is a must when visiting Copenhagen. This place is awesome and absolutely beautiful. Disney Land in California was inspired by Tivoli. We went there during the Summer which is probably the busiest time and even though the place was packed it was still very easy to get around and you didn't have to wait long for the rides at all. And the rides are awesome. Will definitely be going back here when I travel to Copenhagen again.
Great day out for the family. Rides are fun, it is very worth buying the unlimited ride ticket if you enjoy rides and will make good use of it. I would recommend staying late as it is pretty at night when the lights come on, there's always live entertainment somewhere in the park. The fireworks at midnight are good as well. The food however is quite average and you will pay an extortionate amount for it so I would also recommend eating before you come or bring a packed lunch to eat at one of the many picnic areas.
Had so much fun here. Bought the unlimited ride ticket, so we could enjoy ALL! It's not only an amusement park for children, but as an adult it will enchant you with it's beautiful buildings and gardens. You can also find here various restaurants and pubs to have a cold beer. Children will definitely enjoy the Fun House where they can freely monkey around. When the sun goes down, the lights go on - you'll be introduced to a whole new world! Tivoli Illuminations is a fantastic lighting show on the big lake. If you want to see something special, don't miss it! So much to tell about this wondrous place.. you should go and try it yourself!
One of the best amusement parks I've ever been to! The gardens are really nice on their own but the rides are definitely worth it as well. The overall theme of the park is very noticeable and really adds to the atmosphere. There are more than enough food options so there will be something for everyone. If you are planning to go on a lot of the rides it's almost a must to buy an unlimited ride pass, it's so worth it. The rides themselves are very diverse as well. If you're near Copenhagen be sure to visit Tivoli.
Fun for kids and adults, this amusement park is supposedly the second-oldest in the world and inspired Walt Disney. It is like a miniature, clean version of Disneyland without all the characters and branding. Absolutely beautiful during the golden hour and open quite late. Midnight fireworks were canceled due to dry weather. Tons of decent-looking restaurants and plenty of places to get alcohol drinks. If in Copenhagen, you have to spend the few bucks and go in here.
