The Galicia Jewish Museum (Polish: Żydowskie Muzeum Galicja) is located in the historic Jewish district of Kazimierz in Kraków, Poland. It is a photo exhibition documenting the remnants of Jewish culture and life in Polish Galicia, which used to be very vibrant in this area.
The Museum was established in April 2004 by the British photojournalist Chris Schwarz (whose father originated from Lwów), in cooperation with Professor Jonathan Webber of UNESCO, in an effort to celebrate the Jewish culture of the Polish Galicia and commemorate the victims of the Holocaust in Poland.

I only had the opportunity to see picture collection. Decent bookstore with wide selection of books in German and English. Nice cafe and playground for kids.

A really good museum which shows the events of WW 2 from a very personal perspective of a young Jewish girl. It's a place that shows history so close, that it leaves a mark on you. Definitely worth visiting.

This museum has an excellent selection of second hand books from European writers, new books concerning the holocaust and Jewish concerns, and a great cafe. The museum itself was themed well and went far beyond the ordinary in terms of showing polish Jewish life before and after world war 2. The majority of photos were without people, which helped highlight the themes of loss and change.

Stunning photographs. Well structured into 5 parts taking you through the history of the Jews in Galicia and Poland. I spent well over 2 hours here as there is much to read . Thought provoking. Not crowded. There were only 4 of us in there. There is a small coffee bar serving drinks and cake, and a bookshop. There are no seats in the museum so it could be tiring for some.

The place of Remembrance. You can get not only the History of Galicia Jews but also the heritage of ŁÓDŹ, Lizmann Stadt with interactive lay out. Highly recommended by Tomguide Cracow 👌

I'm giving this five stars because it deserves the support of everyone. The exhibition 'Rediscovering the Traces of Memory' was quite moving and follows not only the story of one woman's diary from her years in the Lodz ghetto, but also includes photography from decades of Jewish life in the region. The cafe is quite nice for a snack or beverage and the bookstore is probably the best one on Jewish topics I've seen in Poland. The museum also does a number of additional projects that are worth looking into.

Lots of pictures with footnotes and descriptions. There is also a temporal exhibition on a recently renewed patio. I saw a piano on the middle of the main room as well, it must be there for special events. The museum is focused on the polish Jews life and history from pre-war until recent days, you will be done under an hour but its worth it if you're interested on the subject. There is also a cafe and souvenir store so you can relax a little bit there.

Interesting museum. With an interesting exhibit space. Was especially amazed at the new space in the back that was created to house temporary exhibits. Just saw a powerful exhibit of PSA posters made to demonstrate woman’s rights.

The museum is unlike any other Holocaust museum we have visited. By taking a different angle on Holocaust topics through a series of photographic themes, it gives the visitor a new and thought provoking perspective on a dark period in history and the decades since. Well worth a visit.

Impressive exhibition (blood), very educational. In this day and age it is important to have museums like this. Sadly the world needs to be reminded of its history.
