Really impressive Barbican fortification that used to part of the old medieval defensive system around the old city. You can visit this as it is part of a network of museums and it now stands proudly in the middle of the park between the inner and outer parts of Krakow. If you're planning on visiting its definitely worth checking opening times as i walked past it regularly and it seemed to change daily.

Nice area to visit with lots of history, especially nice to walk around during the summer when it's nice and hot. Great for photos and had great views

Really awesome restored piece of city history. For those unaware, this used to be the primary point of entry in the North for incoming traders, and had an easily burnable wooden bridge. The whole of the old city used to be surrounded by a wall and a moat, which is now the park that circles the old city. The cool part is that right by the Barbican stands a section of the wall (Florian's Wall, within a 3 minute walk of St. Florian's Cathedral) that allows a mental image of how the old town could be a walled-in market town.

Looks like a nice castle and you would see in kids animation movies from distance. You won't realize the significance of the structure by seeing it till you read details of this place on internet or elsewhere. Right in the middle of the city. Looks in shambles though.

Amazing original fortification that formed part of the city walls. You can walk all the way around this building and find out about the history of this place.
