Kraków (Polish: [ˈkrakuf] (listen)), also known in English as Cracow, is the second-largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the city dates back to the seventh century. Kraków was the official capital of Poland until 1596 and has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, economic, cultural and artistic life. Cited as one of Europe's most beautiful cities, its Old Town with Wawel Royal Castle was declared the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world.
The city has grown from a Stone Age settlement to Poland's second-most-important city. It began as a hamlet on Wawel Hill and was reported as a busy trading centre of Central Europe in 965. With the establishment of new universities and cultural venues at the emergence of the Second Polish Republic in 1918 and throughout the 20th century, Kraków reaffirmed its role as a major national academic and artistic centre. The city has a population of about 780,000, with approximately 8 million additional people living within a 100 km (62 mi) radius of its main square.

“My place to walk..” - In this old town the is this park. I have walk this way around a lot of time, and every time I see new things.. I like to sit down and see the daily Krakow from people that come this way. This park is around the old town and you can run it, walk it and even on a city bike. This is a walk in time and I love this place... This is Krakow

Love this gem in Krakow. It's the perfect place to come to get out of the heat in the old town. It's also great to just chill out and people watch.

It's a huge park where one just can walk through it or ride their bikes, chill and relax on the benches and watch people walking by. Read a book, listen too music or simply enjoy the nature. The park is not far from the market square Glowny and easy reachable by foot.

A nice walk in the park at night is an awesome sight. If you are lucky you will greatly be entertained by a performance by an arts group. Was lucky to hear a harmonious performance of drum beaters at work.

It's a unique circular park around the old town of kraków. It's full of cyclists and pedestrians and despite the fact that it's not the best place to run, I love doing some jogging there. Some outdoor expo ans true life make this park special. Day and night it contributes to the soul of kraków and is a good reference point for lost wanderers.

Nice place to sit near the old town and eat your chimney cake you bought around the corner. Sometimes there is music. And there are always pidgeons.
