Собор Святых Станислава и Вацлава (польск. Bazylika archikatedralna św. Stanisława i św.

A bit mixed feelings after visiting the castle. First of all there is a long queue to buy tickets, we spent probably half an hour in the queue. Then there are limited availability for visiting. We were buying tickets around half eleven and three out of six attractions were sold out. Photography is forbidden in the castle. Even using phones. Why? The castle itself is very well preserved, nice place to visit. And we definitely liked the collection of old swords and guns downstairs.

Worthwhile visiting. There are no visitors fees to explore the open areas inside the castle walls. It is worthwhile to buy a ticket to see the inside of the Cathedral as well as the Royal tombs. The castle buidlings and premises is very well maintained. At night the castle is beautifully lit up. There are good views of the city and the river from the castle walls.

It's a place totally worth of the trip. The conservation of the buildings is impressive and the style is totally different than the ones we've got in my part of the world, Mediterranean countries. Could access walking from the main square in Krakow and covered with snow looks speechless but the opening times of the castle are quite short what makes me spend 2 days to visit the whole place, apart from that , loved it!

Must-see place in Krakow! I liked it mostly from it's atmosphere, great city view and well-combined architectual styles. The place has a true spirit of the important historical events of the country and has many expositions inside. By the way, you can offer a good audio-guide either in Russian or in other languages.Very interesting place! But going there you should mention that main expositions are closed at 4 p.m. in winter, and the last excursion (as it was said) goes at 2 p.m. You may spend the whole day here, if you are interested in historical details. So, don't waste such a great opportunity!

Interesting and exciting place in Krakow. With my every visit to Krakow I delayed my way to the embankment. But not that time . When I was at the right place I saw the Dragon with fire in his jaws and so many people were waiting at his next performance and so was I. Beautiful place with its own history. And of course absolutely magnificent swans on the river Wisla overwhelmed me. They were waiting for visitors who will feed them😀 it was cool and unforgettable...

Visited the church and the crypt. Make sure you have a audio guide, or you'll miss the exciting stories about people and architecture. Check out the dinosaur bones hanging outside the door of the church. The bell tower also had a great view. Unfortunately the royal rooms etc were closed when I visited.

I'm not usually one for wandering around religious places but the cathedral is worth a visit. The audio guide for an extra seven zloty is a must as it explains everything extremely well, with a lot of polish history explained as well. Well worth the hour it took to go round

Wawel Castle is a must see when visiting Krakow! The museums are all separate expenses which can add up if you want to see everything however even if you just walk around and don't go to any of the exhibits it is tremendous fun. The structures and exterior stone work is lovely - the courtyard is beautiful! It is a bit of a walk up the hill but the view from the top is well worth it. The castle is well maintained, clean and taken care of by friendly people. The cafe is pretty nice as well.

Really cool castle and the cathedral is simply stunning (plus all the Polish royalty's beautiful tombs here since the Middle Ages is so cool). It's also awesome that most of the things to go to are free, you just need to get a ticket for them. However a bunch of places weren't open when we came (can't remember why) and it was a normal time on a normal weekday (including the towers) so we didn't get to see everything we wanted to. Still, it is a beautiful castle steeped in history.

What a spot.... Its unbelievably beautiful and interesting city called Krakow! We stayed there for 3 nights but it wasn't enough time to enjoy the Polish culture and history at the same time. Wawel Royal Castle is only 1 of the many interesting places in Krakow to be. There is elevated few of the downtown of the city! Beautiful scenery of the river and its extremely beautiful in the evening on the before the sunset. It actually has romantic glow on the angle of the sunset if you in the coffee bar on far side of the square. 5 Stars is not enough for this Place!

Spent a couple of hours visiting the castle and Wawel Cathedral which is within it's walls. To walk round the castle grounds is free of charge. There were a number of exhibitions held in different buildings within the castle where you had to purchase tickets. There is a lovely cafe outside and there are nice views of the Vistula river and Krakow. You can also see the Wawel Dragon from the castle and every five minutes it breathes fire. The Cathedral is free of charge and holds the burial tombs of the old Kings and Queens of Poland as Krakow used to be the capital. You should definitely visit the castle when staying in Krakow.

Nice and peaceful place with a nice view towards the city. Very nice for who's into history and castle visiting. However not much to see, especially in the church is closed for service (pay attention for Catholic celebrations because it will be closed too visitors) and there are not many places where you can sit. Nice garden though

This location has multiple plus points; A great view of the city, beautiful buildings, museums and a nice spot to enjoy a drink. We visited the state rooms which were incredibly grand. It isn't a huge tour (which personally I liked) but does offer a unique insight into a royal residence. After, we explored the grounds taking in the views and went to grab a well deserved beer.

Beautiful castle on the hilltop. The exhibitions give a good overview about the royal lifestyle and history of the city. There are also two towers you can climb to get good views of the city. Book your tickets online as some of the exhibitions sell out especially for the weekend

This museum is a must-see and must-visit by any kind of tourist visiting Kraków. There is an open access area which anyone can go freely and enjoy the building by walking around, visiting the church (one of the most important of Kraków) and the nice views from the top (somewhat) of Kraków and the Vistula river. If you want to know more about the Castle there are paid options which are very interesting, but if will depend on the wish and the interests of each one. This place is very much relevant historically to the city of Kraków and to the whole Poland, so, due to that, this castle breath history and is a truly inspiration to any one.

Beautiful interior gardens in July.Be prepared for much walking and climbing. Nice cafe areas to sit down, relax, have a cold drink and food. History and historical artifacts amazing. Will go again when I return to Poland. Did not hire a guide and was disappointed. I had so many questions. Will be getting a guide next time. Enjoy!

Wawel Castle and Cathedral are stunning examples of medieval architecture. The castle museums and Cathedral museums are extremely informative and filled with fascinating information about the history of the castle and it's development. You can choose to visit only some parts of the castle when you visit or all of them depending on what you ask for on your ticket. There are two tickets offices at opposite parts of the castle and you purchase cathedral tickets (for crypt and bell tower) at a separate ticket office. The tickets had times written on for the different parts if the castle but when we were there (June) we didn't need to stick to those times. Lovely scenic views of old town and also beautiful buildings to view in the royal compound area.

This is a royal castle, what else do you need to know. A good reminder of previous ages. Tombs on Kings and queens of past, the artifacts that belonged to them and the surroundings they saw every day. Walk the alleys that were the route for chariots of dukes and other nobles, see the views that the guardians of this castle saw 300 years ago. I know this may be said about any other castle, but this one remains at a glorious look and condition. One more interesting fact, if you want to have a wedding in the same place where Kings of old had - you will be surprised how low is the price.

Lovely cultural and historical place to visit whilst in krakow. We opted for the guided tour (headset) got one between the two of is (we had a headphone splitter) it was easy to use and gave good commentary, but didn't comment on everything. You could pause in between tracks to look at the other things on display. Busy, but well managed. Beautiful view of the town from the Sigmund bell tower. Easily done in half a day. And always leave the site via the dragons cave! 🐉

Wawel castle was great. Definitely worth walking up to see it. It's on a bit of a hill but the paths are easy enough for anyone to walk up. It's totally free to just walk around the castle, we didn't go inside. Views of the castle and from the high walls of the city are brilliant.
