I entered with a cold and after 3h I felt much better. It was warmer inside on 134m than outside. One of the place I prefer to visit in winter time. The salt tastes extraordinary and I believe in its healing power. Was worth the trip by Public bus. Take line 304 for just 4zloty. Easy to do and takes 25minues on Sundays.

I was really impressed. The salt mine itself is pristine. Very well maintained and well thought out. The sculptures were a pleasant surprise but the main event was definitely the chapel. They say it is the most beautiful underground chapel in the world and I can believe it. The tour guide was very informative and succinct. I would definitely recommend it.

Great experience! The guide was very informative. We went at a reasonable pace and got a chance to take the time to appreciate all the beautiful carvings and natural formations of the mine. The gift shop also sold some very interesting and unique things. I highly recommend visiting.

Impressed! Every sculpture were made from salt! Suprised me was that in the salt mine there is a hall for functions! With table settings, chapel and a musical hall. Fantastic! It easy to walk in there and every part of the dungeons has its story. I presume the air in there is extremely salty as i came out from the mine, as i licked my lip, i tested salty too!

a unique experience to be at this place, a mine where one can meditate. We had been advised to take deep breaths during our entire visit here & surprisingly it worked. Polish people have managed it very well. local mine tour arrangement also forms the way it touched .. it takes you to the other world itself. The details provided by guide is very interesting to flip the pages of history...A must visit if in Krakow...

This is an interesting journey into the history of this area. You'll see lots of interesting exhibits along the way. It's many many steps down, so wear good shoes. There are a couple of stops along the way...buy some salt baths as inexpensive souvenirs. Thankfully, there's a small but functional elevator to return you to the surface. Take a light sweater!

I was a little nervous and I'm claustrophobic but was fine...it was a wonderful experience and amazing what they have carved into the salt. The tour guide was hilarious. Temperature was about 16 so not bad at all...there are a few shops inside and area to eat (good food) and to rest. The lift going back up was bad - 9 people in a small iron lift but it was fortunately only about 30 seconds. This is definitely value for money and a must visit

Excellent tour in to the mines below wieliczka, very surreal to be below group and an amazing sight to see. The sculptures and carvings are truly outstanding. Would recommend as a visit. Only suggestion to visitors is if going on same day as visiting Auschwitz then try and visit mines first as we visited Auschwitz first so mood was very sombre so maybe didn't appreciate mines as much as we could have

An amazing experience, fascinating history, and a beautiful location. I have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to have a dinner in one of the rooms. It was a fantastic experience, and I would recommend anyone in the Krakow area to visit the Salt Mine. Some of the rooms are absolutely stunning, and I hope the couple of pictures I uploaded speak for themselves. the atmosphere is intriguing.

A must see whilst you're visiting Krakow. The mine exceeded all my expectations and the caverns were stunning and huge. Our guide Sebastian made our tour interesting and funny, thanks Sebastian you couldn't have been a better guide. Visit takes about 2 hours which went very quickly.

To be honest, it's fairly boring. Like, I understand it might be historically important or something like that, but realistically you will spend your time poking walls made out of salt, different kinds of salt. I'd say if you have a spare day in Poland you can probably find something more fun to do, like stare at a wall or just walk around in circles til bed time. Look you might enjoy it, I'm fairly sure at least one kid in our group had fun, but when the tour guide asked us if we wanted to do a either tour of another part of the mine or go back to the surface it was a unanimous vote to leave.

Amazing experience! Be sure to go if you are in Krakow. The guided tour is 2h long and you go up to the 3rd level of the mine, around 130m below the ground. Make sure to go to the "museum tour" after the regular tour instead of taking the lift directly. It will be a less crowded, more intimate tour with many more interesting places like the newest chapel. A must go!

Probably OK if your a bit claustrophobic as the tunnels are quite wide, high and lined with wood and roofs. you're not on your hands an knees like an old miner. Could drive a car up most of them. Some vast open spaces in the form of chapels and churches, some of them awe inspiring. Toilets part way round, and snacks and gifts which is kinda surreal. There's also a proper fast food place and a posher restaurant which to me makes the place seem a bit naff. Although you feel you have seen loads, if you look down side tunnels as you walk, you appreciate how much bigger the place actually is than what you see.

My husband had a great time and I imbibed a couple of much needed beers while waiting the two and half hours for his tour to finish. The staff were very kind and brought water for me while I regained composure. Upon provision of the receipt we were given a complete refund for my unused ticket . I recommend that at least one of your party buys a photography ticket. It's only 10 zloty . Sure wish we had

Second time I've been here. Every time I had fun. It's a great place to visit, but always very crowded outside the main building. Don't let that shock you off. Once inside they have a strict policy on group size for safety reasons. The guides are very well educated and know a lot of details. They will tell you lots of cool stuff about the history of the mine and bring the tours with a healthy dose of humour. Twirling down the stairs is very cool. Would visit again when I'm visiting Poland in the future.

It's great!! But be careful if your knees aren't of the healthiest. You get to walk down 800 circular stairs at the beginning of the tour. I got myself dizzy and weak on knees. But other than that it was splendid. Very interesting stuff you can see inside and some chambers and 3 lakes have spectacular view. Totally recommend to anyone with working knees. Oh it's quite cold down there. Get some jacket or a scarf.

This is an absolutely stunning place to visit. The tour is professionally organized. We have got an excellent guide who talked about the most interesting features of the mine. Of course, the salt monuments are amazing, and the chapels, underground lakes, and walkways are very unique experience. We have climbed all the 800 steps, fortunately almost all down. (We exited using an elevator.) This is a must see place for anybody who is visiting Krakow, I can just recommend. Try to buy your ticket online to bypass a very long queue. We have waited 2 hours to buy ours, but worthed every minute. The guided tour was over 2 hours long, so it is a good idea to allocate enough time for this experience.

It's a must see when you go to Krakow. Getting to know a salt mine that has over 200 tunnels, 49 chapels and it's thousand of kilometers long and centuries old it's such a remarkable experience. The tour is about 2h long and it's very informative. After the tour, don't rush yourself to get the lift back to the top - take the "museum" tour instead. This is not exactly a museum tour, you will get to see many areas that are not shown in the regular tour, such as the newest chapel, some other chambers, a maquete of the mine and an area with more of the cauliflower salt covering the whole room.
