Perdana Botanical Gardens, formerly Perdana Lake Gardens, Lake Gardens and Public Gardens, is Kuala Lumpur's first large-scale recreational park. Measuring 91.6 hectares (226 acres), it is located in the heart of the city and established in 1888. The park served as place of refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city during colonial times. It contains large sculpted and manicured gardens and a host of attractions.
The colonial-era park was the brainchild of Alfred Venning, the British State Treasurer of Selangor in the late 19th century. In 1888, Venning proposed that a botanical garden be built in the valley of Sungei Bras Bras, and the British Resident Frank Swettenham agreed to the scheme and authorised a small grant from the State funds for the garden. Venning laid out the plan for a park of 173 acres (700,000 m2) which included an "experimental economic garden" and a lake.

souvenir shopping is too costly !! So better don't buy anything. Garden is pretty much big and gigantic. It's lush green. And you better have a cycle or else you won't be able to finish with same enthusiasm. There are too many places you can visit and you can even buy stuff from here but at the end it will be costly as hell. Lake side view is amazing and can spend you evening there with your loved ones dipping your legs in water. Too many hungry fishes you'll find so yeah you can Fred them food too. If you have camera can take cool photos of scenery and group photos with best backgrounds..

A great place to spend your evening with friends and loved ones. Open greens to sit around have a picnic or stroll through the flower bed attractions and fountains. A few nice arc bridges which crosses over the lake. There are routes for jogging as well. Overall a nice place to relax.

Great public botanical garden with lots of different things to see around it. There's a huge kids playground with lots of fun structures, and some covered benches in case it rains. Cool dinosaur shaped bushes (in need of trimming/maintenance as of spring 2018). Lots of nice paved pathways and places to sit with nice views. Pretty clean, and easy access via taxis or uber. Good signage about the different kinds of foliage. A great place for a picnic, a walk, or a day/afternoon of fun with kids, or just to relax.

Fantastic! Such a beautiful, serene, wonderful, quiet place to explore, relax, do yoga, meditate or just chillax. Bike riding, walking or jogging, along the many paths and roads, it's lovely. I truly enjoyed myself and went back for more late in the week! Definitely come check out the gardens, the lake, plus the birds and planetarium are also right here too! ENJOY!

Serene, beautiful and an excellent place to visit with kids. The dinosaur park is great and my kids enjoyed it very much. The herb garden and the rest of the place in general is awesome. Can't get enough. I have been here several times and still have not explored the entire park yet. Will keep visiting this place with my family inshallah. If you are looking for a forest in the city then this is one of the places to visit.

Great place to take the family or to get some fresh air. Lots of greenery around and open places to picnic or to run. We brought a mat and had a nice picnic over the weekend. Well paved roads throughout. Parking is a little tricky but if you're in KL Sentral there is a pathway over to lake gardens.

If the weather is nice this is a lovely place to go. It seems to be kept very clean and there are lots of different areas to explore. Great for families, individuals, groups, basically everyone. There are playgrounds and large grassy areas for the kids, and the lake near the boathouse has plenty of fish and terrapins for them to see. To be honest I hadn't been there in a number of years until recently, I had forgotten how nice it is there.

You have to go there on the right time when the flowers are blooming. If not, it would be such a waste. I went there but the flowers weren't blooming. But the garden was really nice anyway. There's also a bird park but you have to pay for it. Whereas you don't need to pay for orchid park.

Neat, beautiful, relaxing, green and well maintained park in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. One of the main tourist attractions in the city. Park is very big and best time to visit is in the morning. Entrance free and you can follow numbers to avoid missing of the palaces. Deer park is closing at 5pm. Loop running track is around 2.3 kilometres if you're interest in jogging. Opening time is 9.00am to 6.00pm. Orchid garden and hibiscus garden requires a payment of RM1 in the weekends.

It's a beautiful garden located in the heart of the city. There are large collection of trees and plants and botanical names are displayed which helps the student. Lake in the middle adds to the beauty and neatly maintained. There is no entry fee and garden is quite big. Have a look if you are fond of natural beauty

Beautiful place, stunning views and easy access via public transport. Butterfly park, KL bird park are all also nearby. Friendly staff and worth the visit. Absolutely recommended. Food is also available but to save cost one may bring some snacks for home. Clean and magnificent experience of nature.
