It is regarded as a traditional village that well know with its weaving cloth, but in fact most of its clothing products made not from the village. Most of the cloth that they made-us-think they made are came from Bali, Java and even China. Overall, It is really nice ambiences, some part of the village are clean but somehow the village is not natural, now it feels like it has already changing toward tourism businesses not as a weaving village. I notice that when you come and communicate with the villagers, not many of them practicing the same custom anymore. Hopefully they preserve their heritage and keep making sasak weaved-clothing.
Traditional village in Lombok. Nice to visit.
Nice place to see traditional life.
Our taxi driver took us here as part of a trip to Kuta; total tourist trap. They just want to use you for an ATM; I assume the drivers get some sort of kickback. Skip it - very dull.
Unfortunately there is nothing about culture, just about ripping-off tourists... at the parking space you are caught by a "guide". After that he explained just a few things about the village, which was nothing but a tourist market with totally overpriced low quality products which are definitely NOT HANDMADE. You are lied to and ripped off. Fortunately there is a ATM close... and after all the guide even asked for a tipp. We totally don't recommend going there.
