Franchimont Castle (French: Château de Franchimont) is a medieval castle in the municipality of Theux, Liège Province, Wallonia, Belgium. It sits at the western end of a small hill 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the village of Theux, a sub-municipality.
It is thought to have originally been built in the 11th century, as a stronghold of the Prince-Bishopric of Liège. The original building was extended several times during the Middle Ages, once after a fire in 1387.

It's is an old ruin, you can see that it is huge, do not expect a large old castle, but for a very friendly small admission price this is a very nice stop

Interesting ruined castle tucked away in the middle of nowhere! Informative notes render the need for the supplementary audio guide almost unnecessary. Great views over the Ardennes and a convenient (if a bit pricey) café and bar next door. Ample free parking.

My nephew found a fossile or somsthing like that and they placed it in the museum. Very kind people!!!

An amazing and also long audio tour about the history of this castle. Little details are perfectly discribed in different languages. The views from within the castle are also amazing.
