The Sanctuary and Monastery of Las Nazarenas is a church in Lima and is the site of the Peruvian Catholic procession of the Lord of Miracles, Señor de los Milagros, who is also the patron of the city. It was constructed together with the Monastery of Nazarenas in 1771, after a major earthquake in 1746.

Very nice architecture on the outside... I highly recommend the surroundings as well. Lima Downtown is dope!

Every year in October teams of 36 members of the Hermandad del Señor de Los Milagros de Nazarenas (Brotherhood of the Lord of Miracles) carry the Image of the Lord of Miracles through the streets of Lima in what has become a world-famous procession of the faithful. This is the church that houses the Image and where the procession originates each year. Our visit was pleasant and spiritual. The creche was spectacular!

Thank you Señor De Los Milagros for all the daily miracles you give to all of us. Watching nazarenas tv takes me back home, my beautiful Lima, my hometown UV#3. It is a blessing.

Also called Senor de los Milagros (Lord of Miracles), after the painting of Christ made on a wall by an angolan sclave in the XVIth c. Was spared by the major 1655 earthquake. This major shrine is held by the Carmelite order. The present church dates from 1771. Main celebrations in October every year.

My first day in Lima with much anticipation. Was extremely tired after a long-haul flight, but couldn't help going out exploring when the delightful church bells rang out. (Sep 2015)
