The water being pretty high and it being pretty stormy, made it quite a challenge to get to the castle dry. Once there the place was pretty small with not too much to read or interact with. The view was really nice though and made for some good picture opportunities. Consider stopping by if you're near and need to kill 30 minutes.

Beautiful views of the water and a cool military tower to tour. Be prepared for a long line, though. I saw at least 1-2 families walk away due to the amount of time it took to get in. I’d say it was worth it. I enjoyed the military history displayed and my wife enjoyed this beautiful fortress and the few minutes we got to sit and enjoy the water.

Very nice place to visit. The queue system was completely absent and made the wait really really long. A suggestion: put up a barrier along the bridge onto the castle to divide between people with tickets and those that will buy a ticket at the gate. If possible, also make a return line. Otherwise, the view from the tower was magnificent and the rooms had very few information boards - which was both good and bad: good because it didn't obfuscate the experience of the architecture, bad because some additional information could help understand things a bit better. A suggestion: one more information board in each level to give a bit of context, but no more.

One pf the most visited places in Lisbon... This tower is a huge tourist attraction and has a rooftop for an amazing view of the surrounding waters... The garden and the walkway around this tower are full of people and is a good place for a long walk.

Beautiful view. Didn't go inside. Really enjoy walking along the shoreline. I would recommend

Beautiful on the outside, boring on the inside. This may not be worth your time or money. Be aware that there is a very limited amount to see on the inside, but it takes a rather long time to see due to staircase logistics. There is one staircase. When you want to go up, you must wait for a green arrow. The arrow will last 3 minutes, then turn red and beep for 45 seconds, then turn the other way (indicating you can only go down) for 3 minutes. You ultimately will get off at each floor, take just too much time reading the information, and then be left to wait for 3-4 minutes while the arrow points the other way. There are far better sights to see in Lisbon. This is also very out of the way from the main sights.

Closed on Every Monday. Even on today on Tuesday it’s again closed. Weather is good even then it’s closed. Unable to go inside continues two days. Better view from outside too good and everyone can see river Tejo and Atlantic sea all together. Overall It’s too good to go there. Must go there to see when in Lisbon.

1. Pros: beautiful architecture, great sunset views 2. Cons: can get a bit crowded 3. Interesting Fact: avoid visiting the inner part, it is not worth it 4. Specific Recommendation: you can visit the belem tower and the monastery within a couple of hours

This place was great for me, but if you're not into history, especially medieval history, maybe give this one a miss. It costs €6 for adults, €3 for other people (including students and children). The insides, as many others have said, aren't as awesome as the outside. If you have time, definitely visit here just to see it - definitely worth your time. However, if you aren't really into your medieval history, maybe visit the Castle of St Jorge instead which is slightly more interactive / interesting.

Belem tower - Nice n Serene place to go. Even though it looks normal but it's famous for its history. Public transport : I would suggest to go either by tram 15 or by train. Buses will stop at a long distance. Also the tour buses like yellow bus, city circle sightseeing bus etc frequency is less in this place.

Waited 1.5 hours in line to get across the bridge and enter. They only allow 120 people into the tower at once. Despite handfuls of people walking out, They were not allowing people to enter. We spent about 35 minutes without moving a step. Upon getting in and paying 6 euros per person, the wind and rain picked up significantly and they forced us out of the tower without refund. I paid 12 euros to spend 5 minutes seeing about 1/5th of the tower. I understand our safety was a priority but once we were out, a refund should be granted. Not a great experience. Wish we had just taken pictures of it and moved on. Very nice and historic tower to be able to see though.

Very nice touristical site of Lisbon! For me it was very impressive to see what they were able to built in the past! I was unfortunately very late there, because I was after a meeting quickly there! From the center you travel there by train. For me it was definitely worth to see the Torre of Belem.....I will probably come back another time!

An old Lisbon defense tower. For only three Euro, you will enjoy great views of the surroundings, you'll be challenged with a narrow, 93-steps stairway with quite opaque signal system. Definitely worth to visit if you're around.

Beautiful Medieval Tower located on the water shore. The tower was well worth the 30 minute queue wait. We went all the way to the top of the tower and it has beautiful breathtaking sights. However, the walk up the stairs can be challenging for those that are on the heavy side as the stairs are narrow and on circular angles. Those with with fears with confined areas or fear of heights, should abstain in my opinion. Otherwise, well worth a visit.

Great place to sit by the water and enjoy the view. It was not open when I went but there was a huge park with a concert. There's some cafes and food trucks near by. The tide goes in and out to provide different views with the water. There's a small beach and some rocks that allow you to get right next to the tower for a photo.

If you are into medieval history. You will love this place. Outside look great. Strong. Big fortress. Inside is not as awesome. It is small, tiny and hard to move. The guide only allow around 120 persons at the same time inside.

Very impressive, in fact all along this area is very impressive. Great for the photo opportunity, however watch out for all the touts. They can be quite annoying trying to sell their tat. If you get the chance, visit the memorial dedicated to Portugal’s fallen warriors. It’s only a couple of hundred meters away from here. Solemn and humbling

This is a very beautiful place to visit. Awesome views to beach and the white color of the structure of the tower is magical. It makes you feel like some sort of pirate movie and you can always chill in the gardens that surround the tower. It might be a little far from Lisbon, but you can get there by train pretty easy. A must go.
Wandering Us | יוני 21, 2018
The most beautiful sunset we have ever seen! We loved walking along the board walk, there are museums & restaurants all along the way. The bridge that can be seen on the same side of the tower is a small mock version of the Golden Gate Bridge. Such a breathtaking view! We strongly suggest making this a stop when in Lisbon, especially for sunset. It did take our Uber a long time to find us because it’s in such a busy area so beware you may have to wait a little.

This was a wonderful place surrounded by other sites to see. You can cool down in the little beach beside the castle or pay and stroll through it. It is closed on Mondays. You can get the hop on hop off tour to the tower

Came here as part of a tour, and it came as advertised. The best Portuguese pastry I've ever eaten! The place is really busy so it might be hard to find a table. However the staff is great at turning over tables due to the high demand of people looking to get the best Portuguese tart in town.
Charlotte Gousse | יולי 13, 2018
Very nice place to visit. I suggest to buy tickets ahead of time (at least 1-2 days before the visit) because otherwise it’s approximately one hour wait to enter. They have a limitation of a total number of people visiting the tour at a time. I think it’s about 200 people. The view on top is pretty.
Hanna Herasimuk | אוג׳ 6, 2018
Looks romantic outside. especially when you walk on the bridge to the entrance, the waves sometimes can even reach you :) The view from the top is great. But a big minus is having to stand in lines at almost every step: 1) at the entrance (be sure to arrive before early closing time at 5 p.m!), 2) on the way to the top; 3) on your way down :) The stairs is extremely narrow, so the coordination here is done using a "traffic light": when you're down, you have to wait for green light to start walking up the stairs, as while it's red, it means people from the roof are getting down the stairs now. And the same with getting down, so the visit would be tim-consuming.

Picturesque structure. Prettier from the outside than inside. I'd say save your money and time on the inside your unless you are really interested in that sort of thing. Focus on the outside views and enjoying its' architectural beauty.
Steve Williams | אוג׳ 13, 2018
We enjoyed going. It was part of a tour. Got a great photo! We didn't go inside due to a 30 minute limit, but told it's empty (which you should expect considering its age and we hat it was.)
