Boca do Inferno (Portuguese for Hell's Mouth) is a chasm located in the seaside cliffs close to the Portuguese city of Cascais, in the District of Lisbon. The seawater has access to the deep bottom of the chasm and vigorously strikes its rocky walls, making it a popular tourist attraction. The cave was the first to be depicted in moving pictures, in the 1896 British film A Sea Cave Near Lisbon, which shows waves breaking at the mouth of the cave.
This is truly a stunning place. It is unique each time, depending in the tide, the wind... On some days you can be in for a majestic demonstration of the ocean power! A must see! Amazing for sunsets too... it's about 20-30 minutes walk from the train station of Cascais.

Lots of fun, raw beauty and power of the sea. Worth a quick stop then shop at the great stores by the restaurant. Very good prices, better than in town or Lisbon.

Epic sunset spot!!!! Loved it. There are a bunch of little souvenir stores and a restaurant at the entrance. That was tacky! There are public restrooms for a small fee. Coming here is super worth it... especially by bike. There are nice streets and bike lanes if you pedal from caiscais. I've been here quite a few times in a short time.

Wonderful landscaping with rocks shaped by waves. Cave formation due to waves pounding rocks at regular intervals create a mesmerising view. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks is music to the ears and very soothing. lovely place to relax and enjoy the views sipping a few drinks!

Beautiful location. Crowded. Low tide, non winter waves resulted in no blow hole. Beautiful location nonetheless.

I loved this spot. So so beautiful. Must go here as well. It's close to the Town center. We drove here and parked near by on the street. It gets crowded and chilly. So bring warm jacket.

Very interesting to look at and gives an appreciation of the power of the ocean. Can be quite busy with tourism on sunny days. The cafe here Rocha Do Inferno is great also. Nice place to walk to along the coast from Cascais centre

Nice place with beautiful cliffs. Need 20min walk from the center of Cascais to go there so if you came by train it's easy to go there. If you go by sunset it's even more beautiful so u recommend going by the end of the day

A very nice spot in Cascais to contemplate the Atlantic Ocean. Lot's of tourists visit this place every day during summer. Near the rocks when we have high tide we can hear the sound of the sea coming from the rocks. Very relaxing and natural sounds.

Beautiful site. Looking into the Boco do Inferno you can see the power and fury of the ocean. Over the years the Atlantic Ocean has carved it way into the coastline. There is a walkway the meanders along the beach that connects all the way to Lisbon (~30Km). There was a bazaar type market near the site that was selling local crafts. If you are in the Cascais/Lisbon area this is a must see.

Very lovely tourist attractions in the area, great for taken pictures. Especially nice when the sea is a bit agitated and the waves come all the way up it's quite a spectacular view. Great to walk to if you are in the area

What a wonderful gem! Amazing place to watch the sunset in any period of the year ! We went in February but the view was still spectacular. If you take the train from Lisbon to Cascais, it's then a circa 30 minute walk from the train station. The town centre is also lovely, with palm trees and restaurants. Would highly recommend! An Uber back to the station will cost you €3-€4. Affordable and something different 😁

Beautiful rock formations and blue water. There are many places to take pictures from different angles. Climbing down the rocks there are stairs carved into them but can be slippery so being worn. Could do with some sort of bannister. Nearby are also public toilets for 20c

Nice scenery, a bit crowded. During the walk from Cascais to Boca do Inferno, you will pass the harbour, (smaller) beaches and the rocky coast of Portugal. It is a good opportunity to 'stretch your legs' after a day of travelling.
