The Palace of the Marquesses of Fronteira (Portuguese: Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira) is a Portuguese palace located in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Palace of the Marquesses of Fronteira was built in 1671 as a hunting pavilion to Don João de Mascarenhas, 1st Marquis of Fronteira, who received his title from King Afonso VI of Portugal for his loyalty to the House of Braganza in the Portuguese Restoration War.
Nice gardens and azulejos, could use better opening times,as it's quite limiting, and maybe an cafe. The tour is nice for the story of the palace.

Palace of the Marquises of Fronteira. This one off the beaten path, located in the outskirts of Lisbon, just before a Monsanto wooded area. Well worth a time to visit. Palace is occupied by rightful residents, so verify open days. The public showings usually on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm.

Marvelous gardens, they worth the visit by themselves! I didn't see the palace inside, it was closed

First time I went there I was with my wife and we visited the full palace, for this first visit I would give 5 stars. Something changed however and now they only usually open the garden for visits and not the Palace, the garden is wonderful but not has wonderful as the Lisbon Zoo garden which is free to visit and for this reason I'll give 2 stars instead.

Very nice azulejos, so much better than those of "Museu do Azulejo".

Well worth a visit, but slightly run down, in the best possible way. Try to join the tour of the palace interior as it is good.
