The Palace of Sintra (Portuguese: PalĂĄcio Nacional de Sintra), also called Town Palace (PalĂĄcio da Vila), is located in the town of Sintra, in the Lisbon District of Portugal. It is a present-day historic house museum.
It is the best-preserved medieval royal residence in Portugal, being inhabited more or less continuously from at least the early 15th century to the late 19th century. It is a significant tourist attraction, and is part of the cultural landscape of Sintra, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Amazing architecture and history in this palace. A mixture of European and Moorish influence on the structure. Patterns and colors of tiles were still retained. The rooms retained a certain personality. A must visit

The National Palace is majestic, from the outside and the inside. The entrance ticket is a bit expensive, but itâs worth a visit. The palace is kind of a museum, and the furniture collection is remarkable. Obviously, the most original features in this palace are the two massive white chimneys in the kitchen. We havenât seen something like that before (and yet we had a chef in the group!)

Amazing monument with a lot of antique collection. Tickets are a bit expensive but depends on your interest. Breath taking views of the lush green countryside as the palace is situated on top of a hill. Neat and clean surroundings. Lovely and serene drive from Lisbon to Sintra. Dont miss the local delicasies and drinks served in the numerous street side restaurants and shacks around the place. All in all a wonderful experience with friends!đđ

Even if not going inside, outside is a very nice view to take some good photos. It is right in the center and it is very popular. Inside it looked amazing and the architecture was just gorgeous, especially the cellings. Outside you have some good views to the city and it looks beautiful during Christmas time. It is a very good place to bring your family and your friends to spend a nice afternoon with a lot of amazing things to see. I recommend to anyone who is visiting Sintra and it still doesn't know where to start. There is a lot of tourist exploration here tough.

Easy to get to in Sintra so easy to recommend a stop here. Some interesting art/tile-work inside. Nothing I would urge a trip for but if in the area certainly worth the visit.

Really beautiful building. The most interesting feature from the outside is the kitchen chimneys, and they do not disappoint inside. Most of the rooms have various designs on the ceiling. The dome roof in the dining room was my favoirite. Information in each room is in English and Spanish which was helpful. Some renovations in progress.

An incredible place, easy to spend a day here. Worth travelling a long way to see, you won't be disappointed. The entry fee is reasonable for a day's visit. We downloaded the dedicated free app, which gave an extra dimension to the visit, with some clever features. I advise taking drinks and snacks, I was offended by the prices at the snack bar, but the whole place is too good to take a star off for that.

What a beautiful palace. You pay 14 euros to visite the palace and its gardens. When you get to the top, on a clear sky day, you have a beautiful view over the site, the city of Sintra, and Lisbon a bit for far off. Amazing tour, that takes you to one of the most beautiful and complete official residence that was once of the king of Portugal, D.Fernando II, and where everything remains there the way it was: the king's room, dinning room, visitors hall... The beautiful historical city centre of Sintra also worth a visit.

It is worth spending 2 or 3 days there to visit all what there is in that park. Otherwise you'll have to make a choice and prioritize the ones you want to see. Be prepared to walk a lot (wear comfortable shoes). Not all places are handicapped friendly. Some interesting local restaurants and cafés.

Definitely not worth a visit! Do go to the Moorish castle and the Pena castle instead! This costs 10 euros, but there is not much to see. Also if you do not have much time available, do not waste it on this one as the other two will give you much more memorable moments!

This place is breathtaking. I suggest to go early in the morning right at the opening because it gets crowded really quickly. It was not as big as I expected it to be but color were as bright as they show it the picture. The castle over see the city and the Moorish Castle as well. I suggest you go there with a guide. I didnât and I overheard some other groups about the history of this castle. If possible, wait for a sunny day to visit the place because Sintra tends to have some foggy days. The view could still be interesting but the sun was really bright when I went.

My wife and I made a day trip by train from Lisbon to visit Sintra. The town is beautiful and the walk to the National Palace is wonderful. The palace is unique with its medieval kitchen and chimneys. And the interior rooms and art work is nice. However, the entry fee is a bit steep at 10 Euros each. If I had to choose, I would save my money and go to the Pena Palace and Gardens. Get a combined ticket with the Moorish Castle for 22 Euros each.

Loved it. Big walk up there but great views along the way and of course when you get to the Palace. Did the park only as it was cheaper and did not regret the decision. Don't feel like we missed much not doing the full Palace tour.

Wow is all I can say. This palace is set in the most amazing gardens with absolutely breathtaking views of Lisbon! The palace itself is not as impressive as other palaces in Europe, but the experience of just being in the magnificent setting surrounding the palace is something I would not advise anyone to miss! Truly one of my favourite towns ever
