BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (also commonly known as the Neasden Temple) is a Hindu temple in Neasden, London, England. Built entirely using traditional methods and materials, the Swaminarayan mandir has been described as being Britain's first authentic Hindu temple. It was also Europe's first traditional Hindu stone temple, as distinct from converted secular buildings. It is a part of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) organisation and was inaugurated in 1995 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The temple complex also consists of a permanent exhibition entitled "Understanding Hinduism" and a cultural centre housing an assembly hall, gymnasium, bookshop, and offices.
The mandir is the focal point of the complex. Designed according to the Shilpa-Shastras, a Vedic text that develops Hindu architecture to metaphorically represent the different attributes of God, it was constructed almost entirely from Indian marble, Italian marble, Sardinian granite and Bulgarian limestone. No iron or steel was used in the construction, a unique feature for a modern building in the UK.

One of the best hindu temple that i have ever been. So clean and tidy place. Always many volunteers are available to help. Plenty of parking spaces available and they are free as well. Easy access to nearby high street and shopping centers as well. Always great place to visit with family.

I am Sikh and this was my first visit of a Mandir in the Uk. My wife and I very blown away by the beauty of the place. The stonework and wood carving are highly impressive and it is a very peaceful place. There is free parking across the road and it is a highly recommended place to visit.

Absolutely Amazing! Many ask, "How can you mix spirituality and social service?" We ask, "How can you separate the two?" Those who wish to sincerely serve society must be spiritually pure and only those who are spiritually pure can sincerely serve society! The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha strives to better society through individual development by instilling values, promoting spirituality, cultivating skills, and nurturing growth. We aim to preserve Indian culture and the Hindu ideals of faith, unity, and selfless service in diverse communities around the world. We envision a society whose joy lies in the joy of others.

Very nice and beautiful place. I felt very peaceful there. I was surprised to find such a big supermarket for vegetarians near the parking. We did a lot of shopping there.

Having seen the Swaminarayan Temple in Delhi I was sceptical that this was a match. This temple is beautiful and the most beautiful Hindu temple I've seen outside of India. Beautifully carved stone and wood inside and outside. The volunteers at the temple are very welcoming and there's a free tour whenever there's enough people. No shoes are allowed inside the building, but shoe racks are provided. There's a Hinduism museum inside with questionable historiography. At only £2, was reasonably priced and interesting.

Beautiful Temple, maintained really well. Idols and the temple carvings are very exquisite. There is an area where there are art collections which can be visited for a very nominal price. Highly recommend visiting this place if you are in Wembley.

A very Indian peculiar architecture and a peaceful oasis in Neasden area. Very good security. In front of the main entrance you can find a free bags deposit you can use before visiting the temple. Kind service inside and the opportunity to try local rituals. Vegetarian restaurant just outside.

Beautiful, magnificent and peaceful temple. They have a free parking area, baggage room and a vegetarian restaurant. The architecture is amazing and very detailed on the outside and the inside. The idols of the many god's in Hindu religion are beautiful and you can see them during the aarti ceremony at certain times in a day. The temple is well managed, clean and you get to know a lot about the history of the temple, the religion and it's spiritual leaders. They don't allow any bags inside nor is photography allowed anywhere inside the temple. Bags can be stored in their baggage room and photos can be clicked from the beautiful gardens.

Make sure you dont have cameras with you as they will not let you in even outside of the building!!!! On the information board says that you can film outside of two parts of the building but security will make his own rule and simply not let you in. Absolutely disappointing! Every where else you go either museums or churches its fine to take photos and film however this must be a really “special” place!

This is a beautiful temple. With ample free parking and a temple shop and restaurant nearby. Temple has traditional look. Hand carved stones and wooden structure makes this temple one of the best and divine place. It’s called Akshardham!
