Royal Victoria Station is on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in Canning Town, east London. The station opened in 1994 and is named after the nearby Royal Victoria Dock. It is on the DLR's Beckton branch, in Travelcard Zone 3, and is the nearest station for the northern terminus of the Emirates Air Line cable car and for London's new City Hall.
The station is located on a stretch of line first opened in 1855, when the Eastern Counties Railway (ECR) was forced to divert its line to North Woolwich (the former Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway) around the newly opened Royal Victoria Dock. This line went on to become part of National Rail's North London Line, although there was never a station at the site until the coming of the Docklands Light Railway.

Fantastic attraction in central London and surprisingly not very popular! You can pay with your Oyster card or other contactless card, and it’s about £3 one way. The journey takes 10 minutes and you can enjoy stunning views. Highly recommend to everyone!

Only cable car found in London. It connects Royal Victoria Dock Near ExCel to the Greenwich Peninsula over River Thames. Takes around 5-10 minute to cross from one to other side. Best for lovers of height. Gives London view that one has never experienced before. Beautiful view of Canary Wharf, Thames, O2 Arena and nearby Airport.

The gondola ride takes a little less than 10 minutes. The views are totally worth it however if you suffer from fear of heights going when windy is definitely not a good idea. I strongly recommend purchasing a boat ticket to the London eye or Westminster, it takes about 40 minutes and departs closely to the gondola station. The price for both attractions for an adult is £10. Strongly recommend!

Overall a disappointing experience. Not a great deal to do. It sounded far more fun when we read about it on the internet compared to being there in real life. Weather wasn't on our side that day but still very limited. We had a fantastic wonder around though and still made the most of it. We didn't feel the Virgin Aviation center was worth the money at all sadly.

An excellent time on the cable car, even better as there was no queue. The views over London are breathtaking. I think it's value for money for the time you spend on it. On the Greenwich side there is now an A380 experience along with a cafe. A brilliant ride for the family or even if you want to go on your own.

I love this place so much. I reckon if you live near here you do not realise how lucky you are to have the opportunity to ride something so unique in the UK. It is like boarding a plane if boarding a plane was a painless and pleasurable activity. My wife and I had the enormous pleasure of going one direction at normal speed during the day, going to a concert and then returning at night at half speed so we could see the London skyline in the middle of the night. Absolutely amazing. If you get the chance, do not miss the opportunity to have a go. Also, a thank you to the staff there. We missed a return trip on another visit and they kindly allowed us to use the ticket the next day even though they did not have to. Now that is customer service. Awesome.

Staff is helpful, joyful, inviting and professional. The ride is magnificent (well...the view is but the seats are comfortable too)! The price is fair and there's absolutely no reason for not trying them out! Even if you are afraid of heights. It's worth it!

Nice experience for me and my merry family. They loved it. We went in the evening because in the spring time they the music on in the cable cars so it's a lot more enjoyable. Nice views of East London tho there ain't a lot to see on the south side of London. Shame it didn't last longer tho we made the most of it by going round and round a few times. We just stayed on the cable car and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hear they are planning on closing it down so definitely worth going on to say you have tried it before/if they shut it down.

An exciting experience for my grandchildren and myself riding on the sky lift over the Thames. The weather fortunately was sunny and the views over London and the Thames were breathtaking. The staff at both ends of the ride were very helpful and friendly. The booking staff were helpful and we got combined tickets for a the sky lift and a boat trip on the Thames. Very enjoyable.

A worthy ride with great views of the area. Very relaxed and pleasant. We only went one way and had to wait a long time for a car to free up. Everyone was getting on at the other side and we're doing round trips.. This made it hard to find a space for a family of 4.

This was a lovely addition giving us a new experience to do in London. The kids loved it once they got over the nerves. Views were amazing. Well worth a go. Great way of getting from one place to another also.

What a fantastic ride. The views are breathtaking. Not for the faint hearted or anyone with a fear of heights. A great way to get over to the O2 arena
