Fairly good service most of the time, only two gripes I have, is you can't really get to talk to anyone behind the counter if you have any queries regarding your Oyster card, as they don't deal with Oyster card only the machines do. But the machines are not really passenger friendly, the underground machines are more helpful.! The building is quite big, it's Iconic architecture, but in need of a good scrub and a lick of paint, and a few plants here and there, I agree with another passenger the lift service is a little odd and very long winded but of course this is a old building but a extra exit from the platforms , maybe add staircases to the bridge ( The bridge that leads to the lifts) and it's needs lively up a bit, use up all those empty areas (the old empty ticket hall on the other side of the station, such a waste!) A busy train station, but is clean and does have toilets, waiting rooms and a shop or 2, on the platform. It also has a Sainsbury’s outside the train station. The train station has mostly helpful staff they can also be grumpy, but will advise correctly. This place also has ticket vending machines.

Troubled by staff and managers opinions in rail passengers who pay over the top on rail fares, overhearing an elderly lady asking a station manager and a staff member if there would be any help if people get stuck on there trains for 15 hours like the other day in the snow, to which his reply was well we tell people not to travel its there fault if they don't listen, we'll I kinda lost it and stepped in at that point and asked why we get charged so much for travel, why don't South West provide more staff, the rail staff just hide away, you see them on there phones getting paid good money for the least work possible, he had no answer apart from rushing away to avoid any further question, I was annoyed at his responce to an elderly lady asking for there help, that's what there paid to do surely,

The booking hall has 5 ticket machines, where you can top up your Oyster Card (Zone 6). There are multiple people to help you with any problems and questions you may have. There are functioning elevators, if you have a bicycle or are unable to use the stairs. Platform 1 is for stopping services in the London direction. Platform 2 is for peak hour fast services to London Waterloo. Platform 3 for trains to Hampton Court, Alton, Farnham, Basingstoke, Portsmouth Harbour and Haslemere. Platform 4 holds stopping trains to Guildford via Cobham/Woking and stopping trains to Woking via Weybridge. There are two Café Neros on the platforms, which server phenomenal coffees and hot chocolates as they usually do, at great prices, and in the town centre extremely close to the station, you can find all sorts of restaurants, from fast food to traditional pubs. Staff are friendly and well-trained, and I recommend this station to you in the Kingston area.

Good station, 2 coffee shops (Cafe Nero) open from 06.30 throughout the day. Main access via two staircases - one to the front and one to the rear (where there is also space for car and bicycle parking). Main ticket hall has two staffed points plus four self-service machines. In the forecourt is space for temporary parking for 5 cars. There is a Sainsburys Local to the left of the forecourt that is open until 11pm.

Really quick to get to London and other locations. The company (SWR) who own this station need to really stop being lazy and actually open ALL lifts at the station, such as the one that has remained shut for a long time in the disused ticket hall, I was told the lift does actually work so why won't they open it to the public rather than leaving it. Another thing is that the ticket booth for the back entrance (South Bank) has not been in use for a long time, lots of people use this entrance so why not open it.
