Syon House is the west London residence of the Duke of Northumberland. A Grade I listed building, it lies within the 200-acre (80 hectare) Syon Park, in the London Borough of Hounslow.
The family's traditional central London residence had been Northumberland House, now demolished. The eclectic interior of Syon House was designed by the architect Robert Adam in the 1760s.

Syon House has been at the centre of so much English history since the time of the Tudors. Notable residents include Catherine Howard, Lady Jane Grey, Pocahontas, and Queen Victoria. For visitors today it offers the beautiful conservatory and gardens, as well as the lavish interiors of the main house itself. The volunteer guides were all enthusiastic, informed, and generous with their time. There is a shop, but food is only available at the neighbouring garden centre. I would recommend as the house to people with an interest in history, and the gardens to everyone (you can buy tickets to the gardens without entry to the house).

This is one of the most extraordinary houses in greater London, and that's saying something. Under-visited - inexplicably - it is on the site of a medieval religious settlement later converted to a country house on the outskirts of the capital. Adam produced masterpiece interiors and although some of the museum quality artworks have been removed, it is still an exceptional place with great contents.

Beautiful location but difficult for a wheelchair user due to gravel and steps. There is a disabled toilet available but it is up a few more steps. The building is lacking heating so it is cold in the winter. There is car parking available.

We visited to see the Enchanted Woodland. Had a great time! The variety and quality of the installations was good. Spent over an hour there. The kids loved it - especially the ending. Will definitely be back!

One of my favourite places. A nice house with a nice collection but not a splendid garden

Nice relaxed place. Inside the house were good ceilings and marquetry and the glass house looked beautiful in the sunshine but the grounds are not up to the standard of other big houses. Poor facilities for wheelchair users, no information given at the front desk where you pay and a wheelchair took some time to arrange. Better training and organisation needed. The outside area for the cafe needs some shade.

As someone who went to school locally, it is a real shame that we visit historical sites further afield when this gem is on our front door! A lovingly restored house, with friendly guides in each room and beautiful gardens. There are guides and extensive information cards for most artwork. There is free parking and a garden centre next to it with some refreshments. I would love to return and spend even more time. I bought a copy of the historical local map, which was only £4. As a local, I paid £10 for entry.

Beautiful setting for where it is. Staff are really lovely. Good day out even if it's just to chill in the grounds.

Beautiful grounds!! We went here for the foodies festival for the second year in a row. It is a lovely place want to go back to visit the house and builds

The house is very deceptive as it looks quite plain from the outside but hides great beauty and history inside. There are staff on hand in most rooms that are very knowledgeable and are very happy to provide any information about the house you may need. Well worth a visit

Probably one of the most spectacular example of Adam interior, and that alone is worthwhile to visit. The rest is dedicated to the long history of the duke family, who still owns the place, but it could be a bit meh if you don't care about such. Very knowledgeable... but tiny bit too talkative staffs.
