This place is beautiful. Very educational. The guides dress in clothes of the time while giving you a tour. I learned SOO much on the tour. Beautiful gardens
Fun day at Rancho los Cerritos. Very informative and fun way to spend an afternoon
Awesome place. Great and sincere tour guides. Great place to spent a weekend afternoon.
A nicely restored part of California history. The tour guides tend to stay in period character which can make it difficult to connect the significance of the site to our modern lives.
A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with family. The docent was very informative and the visitor center staff were friendly and helpful. The Rancho is lovely particularly the fabulous garden.
Great place to spend a little time in the afternoon. You need to take a tour to see the inside of the house.
A lovely tour of the home built in 1844 and its grounds. Took about 2 hours. Well worth your time.
Rancho Los Cerritos is absolutely dazzling and the tour guide was amazing! She was very open to questions, informative, and allowed everyone time to soak in the surroundings. Showed up on a beautifully sunny day and the colors of the rancho just popped. You learn about the rancho from its earliest days as a ranching operation to its more recent history being remodeled and updated. For a taste of Long Beach history, besides checking out the Banning House and the Port of Long Beach, this is a definite place to check out. Tour was free, the property verdant, and the Rancho itself was resplendent in its history and bright colors.
Great little historical site to visit! If you want to learn a lot about the history of the city of Long Beach, this is the place to go. I really appreciate the tour guides who take on personas (including their clothes) from that time period. They know a lot and were able to answer any questions our group had. There is also a library here full of historical texts that I was unaware of. Great if you're doing research.
A wonderful step back in time in Long Beach- especially, Bixby Knolls.
The tour by Robert was wonderful. He was very informative regarding the house, all the rooms and the people that have been connected to the property for years. We really got acquainted with all the family members due to Robert's information and explanation of them. He had a great amount of excitement in his presentation and had a great sense of humor. Thanks Robert Nancy & Gerald Molina
We took a bus tour here with our garden club... and it was absolutely amazing.... we watched a short film at their visitor center when we got there.... then we were split up in two groups... we toured the gardens and inside the ranch home.... then they set up tables for us in their private garden.... where we ate lunch. There is plenty to see inside and outside of the Rancho. All of the people who work at Rancho Los Cerritos ... including their docents were absolutely lovely people..... This is a must see for everyone.... for just yourself and / or big groups. Very interesting history..... THANK YOU TO RANCHO LOS CERRITOS!!!
Great place to spend a little in the afternoon. You need to take a tour to see the inside of the house.
Interesting tour... Guides pretend to be a family member. Interesting historical content and free! Beautiful gardens
