I was blown away by the amazing art they have here. Gift shop had reasonable prices, my kids loved it and we will be coming back
Very nice, well organized and well presented museum. Good diversity of artists but I didn't find it to be very interesting. It's nice because we went on a free Sunday but I wouldn't spend money on it. But I think it's awesome they feature not very well known LATIN artists.
My favorite museum as its exhibits are always changing to include something new or old to bring forth a thought provoking narrative through art. Love it!
Very nice building and wonderful staff. A moderate display of modern art. Free on Sunday
MOLAA is a museum dedicated to Latin American Art in Southern California in Long Beach; the only museum in the US to exclusively feature works by people of Latin American decent. It is relatively a midsize museum, impeccably clean, well curated, air conditioned and wonderful exhibits. Parking lot is huge. Admission price is relatively affordable; Sundays are free!! Staff are friendly and competent. Museum store is small and souvenirs are tad pricey. Overall, a good museum that every family or individual should visit and enjoy Hispanic Culturas y Artes.
Fortunately we paid half price to enter to see an exhibit that we could not tell was being set up or broken down. However, the documentary on Basquiat was worth all monies rendered.
Amazing art on rotation, featuring artists from all over Latin America (who knew?!). Target sponsors free admission in Sundays, so check-in at the front and enjoy. I recommend dropping at least a buck in the donation bucket, but no hate for those who can't. Do you, man. Enjoy the art!
There is an interesting selection of art here. Different media, some interactive, some moving sculptures. Lots of very creative things. The price is also reasonable. $10 for general admission, cheaper for seniors and students, free on Sundays. The only thing I don't like is the lack of background information. I didn't understand a lot of the pieces and a plaque or audio recording or pamphlet explaining them would have been nice.
Nice smaller museum...I spent 1-1,5 hours very interesting exhibit at the time -Horizons The last 3 art galleries I visited the artist addressed #plastic #trash # sustainability: good for awareness --need #action. Another aspect of the exhibit was emotions of people's plight in life. One was #heartbreaking letters from inmates to authorities asking for a trial...mist had been waiting years. #textile art #photography #video
Carnaval event at Molaa features NOTHING of Brazilian Carnaval. It's mostly like a Hispanic event with Hispanic music and food, NOT BRAZILIAN. If you expect to come here and have a taste of Brazil, forget it, you'll be disappointed.
An amazing art museum of Latin American Art! I hope to come back again someday soon with my family and friends! Don't forget free access every Sundays!
Free entree on Sundays? Yes please! Fantastic works of art. The museum has more than enough parking. 10/10
