The 4th arrondissement of Lyon is one of the nine arrondissements of the City of Lyon.
The 4th arrondissement of Lyon was created on 24 March 1852 (date of creation of the first five arrondissements), with the same borders of the old town of La Croix-Rousse.
Amazing small museum dedicated to the Lyon silk weavers. Only two rooms, but come on the right day, and you get demonstrations. A can't miss for a fabric enthusiast. Fascinating for an engineer to figure out how the equipment works.

Small but perfectly formed museum, with interesting overview of the history of silk weavers in Lyon. The shop attached also has some beautiful silk gifts.

Small but very interesting. Try to time your visit to coincide with the daily tour and loom demonstration.

Loved this museum, went in with a vague knowledge of Jacquard Looms, but learned all about the history of silk making and its influence on the city and wider culture, more about the history of different people involved in the development of Jacquard Looms and the subsequent impact on workers rights. Fascinating, great staff and a lovely shop too!
