Interesting stop with beautiful views of the city. Across from St Paul's Ruins, follow the signs that lead you to the museum (right hand side of the ruins), go up the escalators and when you get to the ticket office turn left to the next set of escalators. A ticket is not required for the Fort, it is free.

Cool old fort with a great view of the city. Play around on some old cannons, then check out the Macau museum.

A nice walk after visiting Ruins of St Paul's. The fort allows good insight into Macau"s colonial history and it offers an amazing view of Macau.

Nice fort located in a small hill top with elevator to access. Well maintained and good collection of antiques including the post box of old macau. Roof top park is excellent and we can get full view of Macau from top.

What a complete awesome place. Amazing history, amazing views, amazing! After walking to the top, make sure you go right around the whole circumference to view Macau from all angles. Try to get there around 4pm & stay for sunset. It closes at 7pm,so give yourself at least an hour to see it all & soak up the atmosphere. Walk down the hill after sunset for beautiful night photos of the Ruins of St Paul's.

Amazing view on the city! Historical areal of the fort is a calm refuge in bussy city with many old cannons, nice gardens and interesting museum in the central building. Highly recommended for visit.

Amazing views of the city. Very close to the old town, therefore highly recommended. Make sure you go all the way up.

One of the souvenirs of Portugese... Nothing new with the architecture, its like a regular fort. But the speciality is, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the city of macau from here. And there is one binocular located at the top. The administration is good. The security guards are everywhere to ensure your safety. And there is a garden at the top of the fort. No entry fees. One of the best places to visit with children. Usually not too crowded. You can enjoy the fresh air also. Overall a nice place to visit with your kids.

The Monte Forte attraction, which is a member of the UNESCO World Heritage designation for the Historic Centre of Macau is located right next to the famous Ruins of St. Paul. It is a nice place to visit but needs to be combined with the Macau Museum, within the same grounds to be worth your time. The lower level below the Forte is wooded and well-shaded, offering a break from the heat and sun during the summer months. Also, as you approach and enter the fort area and from within the fort itself, you are rewarded with some nice views of the surrounding area. Lastly, there are nice cannons on display as well providing decent atmosphere to this attraction. Unfortunately, there is not much to see within the fort itself except a small single room gallery that you can access from the top. Here there are a few wall displays providing a bit of history about fort but there is not much else to see to the fort itself. However, sharing the same ground, you can find the Macau Museum (MOP15) which offers a good account of the various eras of Macau's history. Overall, while there are nice views from Monte Forte we only recommend visiting if you intend to visit the Macau Museum, especially if you have limited time in Macau. Hint: If you plan to visit both the Forte Monte and the Macau Museum, do the museum first so you that you can take advantage of the escalators built in to carry you up to the museum entrance. When you finish the museum, you find yourself at the top of Forte Monte without being required to climb up the hill to the actual entrance. You can then simply climb down the path after you finish visiting.

The best place to overview Macau. This fort is built by Portuguese in centuries ago. The Macau Museum is inside.

Cool portuguese fort with old cannons and plaques describing it but all in portuguese. Good view of st paul facade and lisboa casino atop the hill. Romantic spot at night. Road leads you directly to the facade. Lights illuminate the walls and plenty banyan trees for shade during the day.
