The place is really big. There is a total of 3 floors. Admission is free but you will need a €1 coin for lockers to put your bags in. I'm not sure about pictures policy but I was able to take some so I think it's allowed. I would allow yourself about 2 hours for this museum maybe more to go through it fully of you like reading the descriptions and stuff. Really nice artefacts and art here. Highly recommend visiting.

This museum is free for EU citizens!!! You should never pass up the opportunity of free museum trips, and this one does not disappoint. There's a really interesting history of Spanish art, from probably mid-18th century with some really lovely paintings on the second floor. The top floor houses a whole bunch of archaeological stuff, such as pottery, weaponry and mosaics, which is not really my cup of tea, but worth a visit if its yours.

This was surprisingly interesting - and free entry if you're an EU citizen. The history going back to the Phoenicians was fascinating. Could have spent longer but it was our last day in Malaga and we had a plane to catch!

I had to wait over 10 years whilst the museum was being renovated but it was worth it. One of the best museums I have visited in Spain. Good clear displays, information in Spanish and English. Free to EU citizens.

Really interesting museum with lots to see. Fantastic store room, and archaeological finds are definitely worth the visit. Also, it's free for EU citizens! Go up to the restaurant on the top floor and see the great views of the Alcazaba too.
