Love love love Maldon Promenade. It is so relaxing but there is a lot to do if you want too keep busy. Great waterpark for children, mini golf and the pirate ship climbing frame. The beach huts look very interesting and if your spending the day there I'm sure they are worth the money. Great food stands selling ice creams, cold drink and I believe hot food such as burgers and fish. Clean toilets. Parking is easy but it is chargeable. Highly recommend this lovely park.
Always a great place to visit at any time of the year. There are plenty of places to buy food, drinks, ice creams etc. although there are often queues at peak times. There's plenty for children to do: splash park, pirate ship, model boating lake, crazy golf or just have a good run around or a family game of rounders or cricket. You can even get yourself out on the river on a boat trip, should the fancy take you.
From the moment you enter its clean and green. Such great family vibes and I was impressed by the vast amount of activities and leisure was available. I wish they had this park in colchester where I live. We had a great time at the Manor Splash Park. There was even a lady who handed me her parking ticket which had 3 hrs left on it... I think its important for councils to invest in parks like this because it creates such a great community spirit. I really loved seeing all the birds and they were so confident and used to people.
An attractive park generally well maintained with a good amount of facilities. However, toilets stink, and of 3 pairs of pay & display car park machines; 1 set out of order, 1 set not accepting cards, the other with a 10-15 minute queue, so poor first impressions. Has potential to be a fantastic park, lots of children clearly enjoying it. Keep parents happy too and it's a winner!
It's a very good place to visit with children. The water splash park is well maintained and clean. The staff were generous because the weather was cool when we went on a Wednesday. But on a hot day with big crowds I expect the 20min slot will be stupidly short and the trip could end up costing a lot lot more than £2.50 for each child. The Pirate playground is good with a very fun ship shaped thing for kids to play on. Gets very busy and there are often older kids hanging around. It's right next to the skate ramps which offer no shelter or seating for the teenagers. The food Hut area is pretty tired and dated looking. It lowers the tone of a nice place, they need to improve the huts and seating to create a central heart to the venue rather than the scruffy looking outlets there now. Good but could be much better.
Excellent place to visit for kids. Reasonably priced food. Beautiful scenery. Only negative is parking. Plenty of spaces but have to queue forever to pay.
Great fun day out. Short walk to town centre. Loads of little huts for food drink and ice creams a little expensive but to be expected.2 great parks for the kids and 2 sandpits.a splash water park in summer. (Has got very expesive last few years)toilets are basic but normally clean.great playing field.great for a whole day out for all ages.
We love our local promenade park. It has everything you want from a park that caters for all seasons. It does really come alive in the summer months with something happening almost every weekend. Car shows to markets to old fashionedsteam funfairs and modern ones. We've had circuses too. The kids can't swim in the swimming lake anymore due to health and safety madness but there is a new splash park which my little 3 year old loves!! A couple of cafes dotted about too so you can get a hot meal or a coco in the winter months or a plethora of refreshing drinks and ice creams can be had in the summer. Great place to visit and keep revisiting.
Roasting hot may bank holiday, lots and I mean lots! of families enjoying the sun. Looked like a fun place for children. Quick walk around the market bought some homemade jams. too hot and noisy for us to stay for more than a couple of hours but it was a hot (52℃) bank holiday ! Walked to the end of the prom and back and enjoyed lunch at the swan.
Good place to take the kids,,, need to pay for car parking. But the kids can have fun. Or just a walk along the harbour.
Came here for a car boot sale. Was not much of a selection of stalls and the car park being so full had to drive a mile or so down the road and walk. The park itself seemed really nice big enough for a nice walk around. For a day out I think would be great. Not much of food or drinks place in the area. Nice and clean and very well kept. Good location for photos.
Great family day out with kids. We all have such a good fun everytime we go there. You only pay for the parking which is inexpensive.
Promenade Park is one of the jewels of Essex. Despite being so popular grabbing something to eat or drink is reasonably priced and there are plenty of eateries to choose from. On site there is a skate park, outdoor water area, mini/crazy golf, sand pits, hedge maze, interesting and well maintained play equipment. Also an excellent view across a nice bit of Essex coastal area. Lovely place to visit.
A nice place to visit as a family or just a casual stroll if you live nearby in the area. This place has ice cream shops. A nice lake. Boat access is a valuable for rent. Also pop up restaurants provide different cuisines. Only thing is that there needs to be more organised events so that there is more to do for the tourists and the locals.
