I went into this museum thinking this would be a more general museum. It turns out it is mostly an art gallery. I'm generally not into art museums because I don't consider myself a good judge of art. It was still interesting though. There was nothing too out there where I would say "I don't get it". It's mostly traditional fine arts. And it's always a great experience seeing "Spoliarium" up close. Notes: - Entrance/parking is free - A level of respect is required, staff will ask you to delete pics of wacky or disrespectful poses.

There were a lot of interesting artwork to be seen. I suggest to take at least 2 hours to tour around the museum so that you can appreciate every room of artwork that is there.

Was relatively newly build, but the experience was still quite nice. Its a bonus that the whole place was air-conditioned and yet free. Layman's perspective, its a 5 star for me.

Nice range of art and artifact collections. I really loved the piece called "departure and arrival" I think it's there temporarily. The place could use better lighting though. It's a little dark in some of the hallways.

For lovers of history and art this place is absolute delight. Should be on your must visit list if you are in Manila. You may spend 4-5 hours walking around and admiring this place.

Lots to see and tons of art and museum to explore. Take a couple hours if you’re wanting to see everything. Several very large murals that display a century or two of historic highlights. Very cool but like I said there is a lot to see. If you go on Sunday it’s free.
Rayce Barnesmar 30, 2018
I've visited the National Museum several times over the years and I've always enjoyed strolling through its halls and looking at the exhibits. The comfort rooms nowadays are impeccably clean and well maintained, you can take a nap in it.

A fantastic place to see the history of art and the art of history, and get to know the background of Filipino art in the impressive former Legislature building. Amazingly, it's all free, and there are rooms and rooms of art - if you're the kind of person to read all the labels, this will take a day to see.
Eden Lawmar 8, 2018
Its a building with 4 or 5 floors. Paintings are vary and nice. Only, when I went there, they were still developing some parts of the museum. Overall it is still worth my time 🙌

Why I gave 4 stars? Here's why: Eye worthy: Whether you love art or not, whether you understand abstract beauty or not, it is a great experience to visit National Museum because of its history right in front of your eyes. Time worthy: Once in your life, make sure to visit a museum, and what's the best museum to visit here in the Philippines is the National Museum. Money worthy: I was able to visit National Museum in March and right on time it was National Women's Month, so I got to enter free. So watch out for National Museum's promos like this.

The National Museum of Fine Arts contain many of the Philippines’ signature works of art. There are sculptures, paintings, photographs, contained in more than 10 galleries. It also has the former session halls of the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines. Visiting the museum will take at least an hour, depending on the speed of one's exploration. If you only have limited time (which you must not have), I highly recommend that you give it to appreciating Juan Luna’s seminal Spoliarium, literally a colossal painting that gives you that sense of awe and wonder. Its sheer size dwarfs everything inside the museum. Wear comfortable foot wear. Cameras are allowed, but flash and video recording are strictly prohibited.

Superr amazing an artsy inside, not only that, you also can learn a lot of things inside, even about the Philippines national Hero Rizal. every inch of this place are very nice and worth to post on your social media. but don't forget that you cannot touch or take a pict with flash. another thing is you are not allowed to pose free style inside of the museum to respect everything. so worth it, gonna remember this place always. oh and i love how every room has it own colour. too cool

The old Legislative Building converted to Philippine National Museum of Fine Arts. Entrance is free for all. The whole building is fully air-conditioned, and you can visit all the displays from ground to fourth floor. Nice to relive Philippine history and culture through art.

Very worth to see it. It is free. You must spend at least 2 hours there is a lot to see it. There is no cafe, or restaurants at the museum, so you must bring something or walk about 15 min. When you get they don't allow bags inside so they have a place to leave it, although nothing happened with my bag, it doesn't look very safe. Toilets everyfloor. There is a G floor that is not accessible by start only elevator and there is nice artists too (a lot of people misses there).

Kahit di ka artist you will enjoy this museum. Grabee sobrang ganda ang maappreciate mo yung mga artworks. Mapapa wow ka na lang talaga sa gawa ng mga national artist natin. This are some photos na nacapture ko thru phoness. Pinaka favorite ko yung Spolarium. And yung sobrang laki ng isang painting di ko matandaan yung name nun pero super maamaze kayo kapag nakita nyo. Mas marami pa dyan yung mga makikita mo kung pupuntahan mo. Dont worry admition is free.

Never miss the chance to visit National Museum of Arts, the admission is free but the museum is closed during Mondays. Upon depositing your baggage, the famous painting of our Philippine artist Juan Luna the Spoliarium will welcome you with its majestic beauty. A wide variety of art works will astonish you. You can capture photos, but make sure to turn off the flash as it is strictly prohibited. Avoid making to much noise as some people are also making an intimate tour through the arts and history. Food and water are not allowed inside. Parking is not enough, so if you are going on a weekend be be there early. Admission is free and no ID needed.

Great place to see the precious gems of the Philippines in the fine arts. Free of charge, so everyone is invited. The place is big but it's like a labyrinth, you keep on going back to places you've been. The building itself is marvelous, grand and exquisite. My favorite part of the museum is the Spolarium by Juan Luna, I got goosebumps seeing it in person.

A must see place in Manila. If you love arts and history please drop by this museum. We like this place as much as we enjoyed our childhood field trip. It brings back memories while learning new things. Now, they offer free admission. The National Museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission to the National Museum is now permanently free of charge for all visitors, Filipino or foreign, to its museums nationwide.

It is a very good place to appreciate arts and be immersed in the history of the Filipino people. It is cool, free of charge and very pleasing to the eye. Staff are courteous and polite. Though, please refrain from touching any of the artwork. The serenity is sometimes broken because of the noise of other visitors. It is also very accessible. If given a chance, I love to visit this place again.

Glad I got to check it out as a Filipino. Get to see the works of the country’s national artists, the beautiful and historical building, many large scale artwork, and even random subjects like drawings of Philippine botanical plants. Don’t spend too much time in the first floors as there’s lots to see until the top. Take the elevator going up so you can see the courtyard and the winding staircase going down so you can appreciate the building itself. There was about a 15 minutes line before entering. It’s the National museum of natural history that had a looooong line so go early for that.
Anika Venturaago 5, 2018
The artworks are great, there is no doubt about it. There are priceless pieces illustrate the fight our ancestors had to do for the freedom we enjoy today. However, I found that there is an overwhelming number of dark and oppressive themes that I came out of the museum depressed. The Philippines went through very hard times, and truth be told, the same can be said with any other country. Hopefully in the future there will be more pieces that illustrate the resilience, spirit, and beauty of the Philippines and its people, because even if these can serve as reminders, the arts should also be able to show the brighter side of being Filipino.
