People's Museum
People's Museum (Malay: Muzium Rakyat) is a museum in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia, which records and preserves the achievements of Malacca in the development sector and officially opened on 15 April 1992 by then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. It is located at the ground floor of the former Historical City of Malacca Municipal Council building, originally constructed in the 1960s and believed to be built on top of the ruins of Dutch building, which also houses the Beauty Museum and Kite Museum at the upper floors.
The museum building is divided into three parts, which focuses on the development carried out for the people's benefit and the success attained by the State of Malacca: the Sports Gallery, Community Gallery and UNESCO section. In front of the building, there is a courtyard in which the transportation area is located and was established in collaboration with Malayan Railway, Royal Malaysian Air Force and West Malaysia Department of Civil Aviation. It formed a part of Taman Bunga Merdeka (Independent Flower Park), formerly known as Corronation Park, which was built by the British in 1953 to memorialise the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

It’s a pretty cool museum. Very cheap admission (RM 3 per person) and a lot of interesting information, particularly if you’re not a local. There are three levels with multiple sections, including a sports area. My favourite section is the ‘beauty museum’ on the top level, which should honestly be called the body modifications museum.

The People Museum located at the 1st floor of this building was officiated by Y.A.B Prime Minister of Malaysia on 15 April 1992. The main exhibits of the museum include administrative, housing, social, industrial, tourism, infrastructure and agricultural aspects. It was developed to show the involvement of the people and the government in developing the State of Melaka. Melaka's excellence was also immortalized in the 'Melaka Sedekad Exhibition' known as the People's Museum. Among the objectives is to show the achievement and progress of Melaka State in various fields of economy, politics, social, education, tourism, industry, and so on and the relationship between government and the people. This historic City of Melaka Municipal Council (MPMBB) was taken over by PERZIM. The People's Museum located at the 1st floor of the building was officiated by the Prime Minister on April 15, 1992. Museum exhibits include administrative, housing, social, industrial, tourism, infrastructure and agricultural aspects. It worked so much for the involvement of the people and the government in promoting Melaka. Melaka's excellence was enshrined in the 'Melaka Exhibition A Sedekad'. Among its objectives is to highlight interesting issues related to socio-economic growth from the Melaka era to the "Melaka Bliss" level in the areas of economy, politics, education, social, tourism, industry, and the relations of the people. There are also Museums of Beauty and Kite Museum each available on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
