It is a small building located in the middle of a very nice park. You need to buy a ticket and I think the outside and it's story is interesting but inside not that much. So it worth it to take a look from outside. Near the cook's cottage there is a nursery with a lot of nice flowers. I liked the park and nursery more than building itself.

Very good, as a Yorkshireman, the vist was excellent and perfectly complemented the various Cook exhibits in Cooks and my own count. The guide Michael was very knowledgeable and really friendly, he made the visit even better for us!

Cook's cottage was wonderful!! It has also the beautiful museum on how the cottage was transferred here and built... It's really worth to pay a visit!!

One of the best reconstructions I've seen, with fantastic Yorkshire voice over! Very helpful volunteers in period costumes; Mary answered all my questions and was a delight to talk to.

Loved our visit. Worth the entry price to see a bit of history and dress up for a picture. Staff were knowledgeable and very friendly.

It is fascinating to see this faithfully transported and reconstructed house (even if it was actually his parents' dwelling). It serves as an accurate picture of life in eighteenth century England. The garden was well maintained. Unfortunately we were unable to watch the entire three and a half video re-enactment of Cook's life.

6 and a half bucks, and a 6 and a half star mind blowing rating. Must see before you die! This is old James we’re talking about!

A little bizarre finding an English county cottage transplanted from England, but a neat exhibition.

A very good experience. I request the authorities to lower down the entry rates because they are really not affordable. The cottage is a beautiful place to see and the park can be the best place in Melbourne to relax and meditate.😉😉

A place to learn a little bit of history. Tickets must be purchased from the nearby Information Centre. You can also take a photo in old clothing. Fitzroy Gardens is a great place for a picnic.

A small house with a big amount of history, nestled in the gardens in the middle of the bustling city. Very quaint little cottage and a lovely walk to get to through the gardens.

The most tranquil and peaceful of Melbourne's park with rich flora and fauna and some beautiful lawns for sprawling out. The conservatory is a true gem along with the cooks cottage! A must see on anyone's Melbourne itinerary!!!

GREAT TO HAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY PRESERVED Captain Cook's cottage is quite small (at least by today's Australian house sizes!) and is located in the grounds of Fitzroy Gardens. It's well worth a visit (30 minutes should be enough time to appreciate it). Good photo opportunities - especially outside as the cottage in its park setting is quite bucolic.

Staff were knowledgeable and quick to help with photos or questions. The garden was really interesting, with original remedies and uses for each of the herbs and plants listed on little signs. There were also clothes in the style of Captain Cook available so you could take an authentic photo with his statue.
