Watson Island is a neighborhood and man-made island in Biscayne Bay, in Miami, Florida. It is located Immediately east of the Central Business District and Arts & Entertainment District neighborhoods of downtown Miami and is connected to the mainland and South Beach, Miami Beach by the MacArthur Causeway.
The island was deeded to the city in 1919 with the restriction that it only be used for public or municipal purposes. The city gave it to the state and the state deeded it back to the city with similar restrictions - both in the 1940s. In 1979 the city attempted to circumvent this prohibition by claiming that the underwater land surrounding the island is a preserve and Watson Island need not be protected as per the deed, as a park, or for public ownership and use.
Awesome place for kids! Has definitely been around awhile and could use some renovation though. We explored what it was like to be a doctor, patient, law enforcement, firefighter and construction worker. They had an awesome life like grocery store and so much more. The museum also offers multiple activities throughout the day along with an outdoor playground. Did feel that there was a lack of seating.

This is a great place for kids to come explore and play. There are many exhibits for kids to see and challenge their minds. We came on a particularly busy day. The kids loved the excitement and noise but it wasn't easy on the adults. As busy as it was the kids were still able to experience everything and enjoy their time. Residents get a discount so i suggest bringing a local.

Great place for kids and adults,my kids love to play in the outdoor playground and playing pretend in the indoors. They have cool areas as hospital, publix, fire truck, art and craft and much more..... They also have cool shows for kids. It was a GREAT day today!

I asked my daughter to give me her review of the place because we went there for her and she told me I was the best dad ever for bringing her there. The museum is incredible and was able to capture the attention of my daughter and make her excited to learn new things. This place has my full blessing and I recommend this to everyone.

Great place to bring your children on a dull day. I read most of the other reviews too; here’s mine. I’m not too sure why they call it a museum. It’s actually deplorable how they have Publix, Bank of America and some Private hospital sponsoring it and we must pay. If it’s intention is to teach children to open a bank account at Bank of America and to only shop at Publix, and to only go to that private hospital, then they’re doing their job; but please don’t charge us. They also charge tourists more which again doesn’t make sense. Not trying to be bitter here; it’s the way it is. I’m all for education; just not to take advantage of young impressionable minds. Again go, I did rate it a 3.

So much fun! The boys had so much fun and i have to admit, we did too! Great experience. With very reasonable prices and so much to do and look at, perfect place for children of all ages!

Good place to spend with kids. I always go at free target Friday’s and it’s overcrowded, but anyway we get fun. I’d recommend for kids older 4 years, there are not too much activity for younger kids.

We had so much fun. This museum is well curated and had lots of different things to check out. We came on a Monday so that there wouldn't be any school groups there. We especially enjoyed "Story Play" which was worth the price of admission alone. The two people running it were so much fun to watch, we were all captivated.
Jessica AuyeungMay 1, 2018
It was AMAZING!!! They teach you stuff while having fun, your child can dress up as a doctor, go to “Publix”, he/she can be a firefighter, I wish I could go again! Unfortunately now I think I am too old but I would do anything to go back! Great place!!

Not a lot to do but a lot of places to do a little in, if that makes sense. There are different sections so you play in each section. But there is only so much your kid will do before their attention shifts. You also have to pay to park on top of paying to get in. Only a subway inside.

We had a good time here. The kids played and they had a lot of fun. We will have to come back this is not something we can get done in one day. (preschoolers) All in all it was a good time.

This is the perfect place to take your kids on a rainy day, or when it's just too hot to be outside. The place is massive, and you could easily stay all day, and still not see everything. My kids absolutely love it here.

This place is awesome! My son had a blast here. The exhibits and the variety was well worth it. This is at the top of the list for kids will certainly enjoy it.
Vanessa KylesMay 25, 2018
It was clean. If you have a 3-5yr old they will enjoy. It was seriously lacking for ages older and a total bore for adults. Almost no staff around. It was affordable but sadly and one time visit...nothing to entice me to return. Great military prices. Expect about 2 hours for visit...have something else to do for the rest of the day.

I really enjoyed visiting here with my kids. They had s blast learning and playing at all the interactive stations I have a 17 month old who has no problem with exploring on her on. If you are in the area is definitely a good place to visit. They also accept Military ID and have special rates for Florida residents.

We got annual passes and we had an amazing time. Period. But here you have some things You may not like as I did: 1. Gets too crowded and is difficult to enjoy (at least summer time) 2. In comparison to other museums of sciences, they charge extra for other games (like feel the air of a tornado) 3. Related to point one, let’s put the example of the Publix supermarket, everything was a mess. Nothing in place, kids could not even play properly. 4. They have a game with a slide, that simulates the ocean with big metallic stairs with not enough protection. Also they have many stairs

I don't have children, so I never visit such places. But my six year old niece was recently in town, so I took her. To say that this place has a plethora of fun, interactive, learning activities for kids, (of all ages), to enjoy would be an understatement! There's 2 levels of fun-filled interactive games and learning tools. They even have a mock Publix & Baptist Health Center ER. I definitely would recommend this place, especially on a rainy day when kids can't play outside.

The boys love coming here. We purchased an annual family pass so that we could come anytime... especially during the hot summertime or when it's raining. It's the perfect place to let them have fun without being outdoors.
Mike HaynesJun 29, 2018
Pretty solid South Florida attraction for kids. The museum part is awesome. However, when you are planning the day out, often you will want to consider additional factors like parking and dining. There is only one parking meter that usually has a long line, slow firmware and a card reader that errors out frequently. This ultimately leads to about 10 mins standing in the sun just to pay for parking. The lack of Cuban coffee is suspicious. In fact, there is no coffee available there after 10 AM. Subway is your only option to eat there. I'll leave it at that.

We had a nice time. Its fun for kids, my 10 mo enjoyed it and older kids seemed to enjoy it even more. Its a good place to take your kids without melting in miami weather. Parking is $1 per hour which is not bad but make sure to park head in only as we and many other cars got tickes for that. Making the end of a nice day not as enjoyable.

I take my granddaughter here often to visit the changing exhibits. It is easily accessible and provides hours of learning and entertainment for my 8 year old grandchild. Recommend highly!
