San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore is a church in Milan, northern Italy. It was originally attached to the most important female convent of the Benedictines in the city, Monastero Maggiore, which is now in use as the Civic Archaeological Museum. The church today is used every Sunday from October to June to celebrate in the Byzantine Rite, in Greek according to the Italo-Albanian tradition. It is also used as concert hall.

Different kind of Church. It doesn't have any statue. Is everything paintings in the whole monastery. Is free to enter into the place and when you exit from it there is a nice museum.

The frescoes in this church are simply beautiful. It is perplexing that this gem is free to enter and to walk around. They allow photography. It is nearly impossible to take in all of the incredible details in the frescoes. You will not regret a stop at this incredible Church.

The so-called "Sistin's chapel of Milan", characterized by two full painted astonishing chambers.

Its a must visit place in Milan. One can see the magnificent paintings on the walls of this church from three cycles of Renaissance. Its quite spectacular view to see each and every corner of this church has been decorated with paintings.

This is by far the most beautiful place I've been in Milano. Don't miss it. Entrance is free.

From the outside this church looks hardly worth a second glance but inside it is a wonder of colourful paintings that are worth stopping to see. All the walls are covered in frescoes. I was particularly taken with the one telling the story of Noah's Ark.

Very recommended visit. It is an unusual church, decorated with frescoes all along the walls. The entrance is for free.

One of my favorite places to take people when they visit Milan. There are paintings from floor to ceiling. Most tell various stories from the Bible. Make sure to enter the back part of the church using the small door on the left.

Gorgeous wall paintings. Original Luini fresco. Very calm atmosphere. Recommended to visit.
