Leonardo’s Last supper is magnificent and awe inspiring. Most don’t recognize that it is a mural that has gone through restoration. It is very impressive. But it’s really one of the two works to see at the site.

The Last Supper is an extraordinary painting and really has to be seen in place to appreciate the skill of the artist - reprints do not do it justice. However, booking in advance (if you're not part of a tour) is vital. And a word of caution - do not go looking for the painting around the large brick church. There is plenty to see in there and there are regular services. But the Last Supper fresco is in the refectoy of the old convent, which is a painted plaster-fronted building to the side of the main church entrance.

If you’ve got a small child, definitely take them to see the last supper. It’s a great way to annoy foreigners as they continually shush you, for a religious artifact people would do well to consider whether Jesus would have been so short tempered? 😀😀 Seriously though great experience, just the middle aged visitors who could at least consider that making 18 month old children be quiet is not easy!

This is a must see. I did it with a tour guide. Totally worth the additional ticket price. You only get 15 minutes in the actual room so it was great to have the tour guide to set us up to see the painting and the. Walk is through the painting itself.

If you love and appreciate art, you just have to see this yourself for once in your life. It is incredible.

Beautiful painting so much more amazing in real life. You must pre book well in advance and don't be late!

What a treat this was to see "THE" Last Supper in person. What an incredible piece of art and so grateful that the bombs of WWII did not destroy such a masterpiece for the world to see and enjoy for generations following. I highly suggest a stop by Santa Maria delle Grazie to see not just this masterpiece, but the beautiful church as well. Note that security is very tight and items like water and food is NOT allowed even if packaged or sealed. You must either discard it or store it in a free locker before entering the church.

You can’t leave Milan without visiting this amazing place. Make sure you absolutely book you slot- you can’t just go randomly. It honestly was an odd/awkward moment - you’ve known the paining so long, but you actually witness it with your own eyes. I could hardly believe it indeed was the “real” one. Thank you for preserving the beautiful art piece in a perfect environment.

Im only giving it one star because upon arrival it turns out the place is reserved for the next 3 weeks (!). So no way of seeing it unless you book long in advance. I know its a famous painting and all, but come on, would the Louvre turn you away because of too many people?

Tried to book online - all sold out for the next three months. Tried calling the phone number provided - no luck! And today we landed up in the morning anyway - and miracle - we got three tickets for 5:30 pm today!! Nothing new to say about The Last Supper. Just knowing that I shared the same space that the maestro once did is a major high in itself. The crucifixion fresco on the opposite wall of The Last Supper was equally amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained A LOT MORE than Google had told me. The church itself is very nice too. Probably not one of the most ornately decorated ones in Italy but it is very nice and peaceful and comforting. The brick structure outside hides the gothic architecture inside - that probably is quite unique. The dome does not look like a dome from outside - it's quite cleverly designed. That is another unique feature of the church. People were very helpful too. Just leave your attitude at home and be humble - and they treat you awesomely. Overall, I couldn't have asked for more. Grazie, team Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Great spot to take a look at the last supper if you're interested. Prices are reasonable and they offer discounts if you're a student or part of another group. The architecture is lovely and the building is nice to take a look at.

Despite looking months in advance prior to our visit, we found that tickets to see The Last Supper were always unavailable - my assumption is that many of these tickets were purchased by tour companies. I really didn't want to pay the premium prices for something (if booked myself) I could see for a fraction of the price. My partner suggested calling the official booking company direct to see if there were tickets available that were not shown on the website. Luckily there were, and we purchased two. Upon visiting The Last Supper, visitors are required to arrive 15 minutes before (we arrived about 1 hour prior and stopped by Puccia's, a restaurant/bar 5 mins walk away, for Prosecco and apericena). Bags are not allowed, however, there are free lockers available. Visitors are taken through in small groups of 25 people - ideal for anybody who wants to take a quiet moment to visually absorb The Last Supper. Visitors are given 15 minutes with the painting, however, this is more than enough time to see it in great detail. Seeing the Last Supper is a must for anybody visiting Milan. If you're lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see it, then take it.
