Due to the weather the gardens were closed, also the castle was closed. 5 stars were for cafe and visitors centre. Lovely food, great value. If you come to the castle you have to go to the cafe
Beautiful castle in a somewhat remote area of Scotland but well worth the trip. You get a guided tour of the castle and can walk the grounds on your own. Grounds take about an hour. There is a very nice tea room for lunch with a fair selection of tea room fare. You'll want to buy the book to remember everything as no photos allowed in the castle.
A brilliant place to visit. The adventure playground is fab, we played rounders on the lawn. The kids had a great day. I'd love to go back some day without the kids so we can explore the castle. It's a stunning building.
Unfortunately this Castle was closed when we visited this stunning building. It is still worth while to explore the surrounds of the castle. Take your time and see the absolutely stunning, well groomed and designed garden. Walk around to the children playground, where they can have a excellent time playing. Visit the princess's "meditation hut". Quite amazing what you will see. Rest here and absorb the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding. Strongly recommendable.
Lots of activities for all the family to enjoy. Mountain biking, hiking, adventure playground, small craft village, lovely grounds and interesting visit to the castle. Reasonable priced too! A great day out!
Fantastic castle entry is £10 for castle & grounds but if going more than once pay £20 for an annual pass. Entry to the grounds without castle is £6. Tours last around an hour & guides are very knowledgeable, they like to be asked questions
A good place to visit. Castle and large grounds are worth a visit. Lots of places to explore, woodland trails etc. Great kids play area and mountain bike trails. Could easily spend a whole day here. Looking forward to a return visit in the summer, when the gardens are in full colour.
This is a beautiful place for walks around the grounds. I haven't been inside the castle itself but could spend hours walking around it. Sad to see the adventure playground isn't free for the kiddies, but mine are all grown up now so this doesn't bother me. Just worth noting for anyone planning a family visit. All in all, a glorious walk.
A truly fantastic experience for kids and adults alike. Beautiful surrounding with loads of activities and a children's adventure playground. Staff always super friendly and the tearoom sells some nice treats for the peckish. You can easily spend an entire day here. Well recommend.
