Nice relaxed tour of the famous Rose Hall Mansion. Tours start on demand when they have enough people (8 to 10). Lasts about 30 to 40 min. You meet at the cashier location. They do an optional photo - the photographer I got was so-so. Then we got into the house from the carriage way entrance into the bar. We got a nice 5 min solo performance from the resident singer. It's your chance to use the restrooms if need be. The tour winds thru the home and finally finishes at the gravesite of Annie Hall (not Woody Allen's Annie). Take the story with a bit of salt - our guide did a nice little wrap with singing of her own. All-in-all, we got a nice, casual and friendly tour. There's a nice souvenir store for all things Jamaican, and of course - to buy that photo. If u have a rental, just drive here - no need to buy an expensive excursion trip.
This was so amazing! Enjoyed every bit of it... Nostalgic feeling of going there when I was a child... Definitely need to do the spooky night tour next time tho... My tour guide was super friendly and fun... Great story teller!
I went there in the night. It was very spooky but I had fun. The tour guide did a great job! You are not allowed to take photos inside so they take a photo of every visitor in front of the great house. Its optional to purchase. It cost $12 and you get to choose the one you want they print it and give you in a photo frame. I paid for mine because I wanted to hang on to the memories!
Fun tour of a very cool old Great House. You get your picture taken at the beginning of the tour in front of the house and can buy it at the end of the tour. We had a great tour guide (can't remember her name) and she was a great story teller. There are a lot of original paintings and the house restoration looks great. There is a bar in the basement to get a drink on a hot day near the end of the tour.
Was a great place for the tour, bar service from Paul and Thurston the owner of the bar. Plus all the ghosts And of course Mary Ann the Witch. Photo was only $12. With a frame.
The tour is absolutely amazing! It's informative funny, and a bit scary when they jump out of no where. Ask for Andre as your tour guide, give him a raise too. All in all, great ghost tour
Rustic plantation home that has been kept in its original state and design.... Night tour is awesome. Plus the Bar has all the Redstripe Beer you will ever need
A great experience! I'm so glad that we did this tour. Learning a little history about the island, the people and how brutal life was, tells a story about the world in a sense that these types of things occurred all over the world. The house was huge and took on a restoration project that took years and a lot of money. The guides were great at telling the story.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The photographer took some good pics. Be sure to stop by and see the bartender downstairs, you won't regret it.
Had an exciting tour with Andre at the mansion tonight. Take the time to learn a little history. Fact I didn’t know was that Johnny Cash was a neighbor. He is from our home state, Arkansas
Went on the night tour and it was a really good experience! Tour guide was great at relating the history to us and the actors were on point as well. Even the drive up to the Great House provides this spooky vibe that adds to the ambiance. Payment as an local tourist was a bit of hiccup. It does help if u call first and reserve your tour that way
I’m really glad that I took this tour, the house itself is interesting and well kept but the real star was my very knowledgeable guide, who made this tour really enjoyable. The only downside is the fact, that the recent owners took most of original pieces of furniture with them when they moved to Kingston. I would love to be able to see all originals.
Very interesting house. Great story. I was there for an event. Perfect place for a party
Excellent tour of the house. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and answered any questions from our group. If I had one complaint, it would be the $10 price tag of the super small cup of the “Witches Brew” that I bought at the end of the tour. Really thought I’d get more than what I got for that price when I ordered it. I would definitely recommend the tour. The beverages at the end, not so much.
The house was beautiful and the tour was pleasant. I loved looking at how it was back during that time and hearing the stories. And it was very refreshing to have a cold cocktail in the little bar where the dungeon used to be!
This was a great tour. We went to the tour at night for the haunted house version. It wasn't that scary to most (but it was to me!). You learn a lot of history about the house and the area. Great time for family and friends traveling together. Tour guides are great.
Excellent tour. The Guide and the staff did an excellent job bringing the story to life. I recommend this to anyone to visit. They are very detailed in the story. The bartender was excellent too
It was a fairly decent experience. Not allowed to take pictures inside the house. Too hot to enjoy. Luckily they have a bar towards the end. Scare tactics added a nice touch.
Great fun attending the night time tour. Very informative. I would definitely recommend it as an inexpensive way to cram in some history. Use JM$ where possible
