We were walking with 2 ladies who worked at the Cornwall hotel and they said the food was great and would show us where it is. Once we arrived I immediately became upset, because we don't eat pork! Granted they had other items but I wasn't impressed with the chicken and the rice and peas were dry! They didn't even have cabbage, like really no cabbage. They are a bit expensive and the servings are small. Of course the ladies got what they wanted. So moral of the story don't allow people to show you restaurants that clearly only was in their best interest to get something.
I love the open pit cooking. It is not clear when you get there that you have to order inside get your sides and then go to the grill and get your meat. The staff was very nice and the place was clean. The food was delicious. We got a pound of pork. It was enough for dinner and lunch the next day for the 2 of us.
Great flavors ,great variety, a very casual atmosphere, good price and like that choose item from the menu a have great meal full of flavor and if u don't want good meal u can still choose the sides..... A jerk center.... Nice... Good parking...
This is a hidden gem nested on the Montego Bay hip Strip and has that nice rustic authentic Jamaican feeling. The grills/wooden stoves are in the open so you get to see your chicken or pork being jerked with all the aromas flowing through the air. My visit was very good apart from the fact that the process to get my food seemed like a hassle. Everything had to be collected at different spots rather than just doing one thing. The seats were not very comfortable and and they were a bit low especially because I was tall. The employees however were very friendly but the customer service overall could have been a lot better. Apart from that, the food was fantastic and even though the temperature was very humid, we were kept cool because of all the trees surrounding the restaurant. It was not cheapest place I’ve been to and the prices were in the much mid range. It’s definitely not an everyday spot but worth the visit at least twice per month.
The worst experience I have had in a long time and the worst ever in Jamaica! I usually go to scotches but I saw this establishment had great reviews and it was on our way to Negril. The young lady that was in charge of collecting our drinks and sides had the worst attitude that I have every experience in a restaurant and I’m a family of foodies and an executive chef. She was very rude while getting our drinks and then had an attitude when I asked for more utensils. Four of us ordered the food but we were a party of 12. To not mess up my just arrived in Jamaica vibe we just shared forks and napkins. They also do not have plates so we had to brake up the to go containers in three so everyone has something to eat on. They should of at least had foil for people to use. The jerk was very good and they had three different jerk sauces from mild to hot so that was great since our group liked both hot and mild sauces. For spending close to $100.00 US in food I will never return because of the disrespectful service from that staff member and I would recommend everyone to skip this location and go to scotches where they value customer service along with their great jerk dishes. If the management cares my visit was on Saturday 2/3 around 1:00PM. The lady that took the order and the cooks in the back were very pleasant.
