Patriarch's Ponds (Russian: Патриаршие пруды, Patriarshiye prudy) is park, pond and an affluent residential area in downtown Presnensky District of Moscow, Russia. For the last 200 years, there has been only one pond, although, as the name of Tryokhprudny Pereulok (Трёхпрудный переулок, lit. Three-Pond Lane) suggests, there used to be more. The area of the existing pond is 9,900 square metres (107,000 sq ft); the depth is about two meters.
The Ponds area is accessible via the Moscow Metro Mayakovskaya (eastern exit) and Pushkinskaya stations.

Awesome place to walk, and also a place where one of the famous Russian mystic books called "Master and Margaret" starts. The book is about the yearly Devil's ball that he decided to hold in Stalin's Moscow. Patriarshiye ponds is the place where in the first chapter devil himself is talking to the two soviet writers being seriously surprised that they are atheists and don't believe in the devil as well. A place with history with nice houses around, full of light at night as well.

I love the ponds, it's a fun place to take a stroll and relax for a while, there are many bars and coffee shops around and during winter, you can ice skate on the lake

Not so good during the winter time. I guess in the summer it's astonishing

Moscow's Soho-like area. Lots of restaraunts, most of them pricey but the park is quite gorgeous. If you have read Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita this place will have that extra bit of historical significance for you.

Very good place for foreigners to visit in Moscow to make photo of lake and park. Located near old Moscow city where many famous writers did live.
