There are some points which must precisely be considered. 1) It is a MUST to go there in the morning, unless you cannot cover all its parts. 2) You definitely need to have an English map to figure out how the gallery has been organized. 3) Do not miss any part. If you are in short of time or sth else, plan to come again. The gallery is really a dynamic ocean of art.

Great museum of russian art! Really made me appreciate the complexity of the the country's artist. Got an audio guide and could have stayed there all day. The line was an hour and a quarter long. They handle big crowds pretty well.

Exhibition is rather large and absolutely nice any time of the year. During the holiday season or weekends though try to time your visit closer to opening hours or late afternoon — the entry line outside might get long enough to keep you waiting for a couple of hours if you come at the wrong time.

This is an amazing place - the largest art gallery in Russia. Here you can see more than 1300 works of Russian art. It is possible to order a tour guide service, or an audiguide in many languages. A quiet, creative place with an atmosphere. Inside there is also a cloakroom, a luggage room, a restaurant, a cafe, shops for tourists.

Wide variety of paintings. Worth a look but you mind want to get an audio guide because the descriptions are not always available in English

That's a must-see place in Moscow for sure. Had a lots of doubts about kids (13, 9 y.o.) though they enjoyed, too. We took a personal guide, and luckily took a good one. He focused on both me and my wife, and the kids. Tip: take online tickets, as it saves time

This was one of the very first place we went for in Moscow. The gallery is HUGE, and it was amazing to see so many art pieces that once appeared in your history textbook. Definitely rent an audio guide - this allows you to understand Russia’s history and it’s religions throughout the years while viewing the pieces. Could easily spend half of the day in there, it was unfortunate for us as we’ve only realised there was an entire section we’ve missed out on out way out.

United forever in friendship and labour, Our mighty republics will ever endure. The Great Soviet Union will live through the ages. The dream of a people their fortress secure. Long live our Soviet motherland, Built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our people, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see. Through days dark and stormy where Great Lenin lead us Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above And Stalin our leader with faith in the people, Inspired us to build up the land that we love. Long live our Soviet motherland, Built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our people, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see. We fought for the future, destroyed the invaders, And brought to our homeland the laurels of fame. Our glory will live in the memory of nations And all generations will honour her name. Long live our Soviet motherland, Built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our people, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see.

500 Rubles for entrance. You can really understand Russia's rich history if you visit the Tretyakov Gallery.

As my friend put it 'I quite liked that' seems like the perfect sum up for this gallery. Some of the paintings were absolutely amazing. However, I wasn't a big fan of the religious pieces which i found to be very boring. The landscapes and nature paintings were phenomenal and exquisite.

An excellent gallery of unique art of the most famous Russian artists of the late centuries. I took the English audio guide what made my visit most interesting. Do not pass this option. The stories of the drawings and the artists themselves are amazing. In addition there is a restaurant in the ground floor with tasty local dishes.

Innumerable works of fantastic art are displayed here. The sheer vastness of the gallery is mind boggling and I couldn't even explore the whole place. I'm not too interested in art myself but I'm sure those passionate about art would have a field day here. Must see for them.

A fabulous selection of wonderful.pieces by Russian artists. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and gave great explanations that brought the artworks alive. My advice is take the time to enjoy not just file past which is what happens in many places.

I was so amazed by a beautiful collection of Russian artists' paintings. Each artist has its own hall. Vrubel's hall was particularly impressive. I spent almost an hour in the museum and I made just brief acquaintance with its many halls full of pictures. Only thing that it was pretty cold there, don't forget to take with you a shawl or palantine!
