One of the oldest Shiva temples in Mumbai. It is situated on top of a hillock and the climb up the quaint stairs to get to the top is worth it. It is not like the other temples you get to see in cities, where everything is commercialised and there are vendors following you so as to sell flowers, etc. It was very quiet and peaceful in and around the temple. And this was the first time I saw Shiva with beard. Very beautiful temple.
Practical things first! There is elevator facility. So anybody wants to avoid climb stairs, can be done easily. Clean, well maintained mandir. Just take a seat and calm your mind.

A beautiful ancient temple of Lord Shiv situated near Girgaon. Nearest local railway station to reach temple is Grant Road. It is situated on small hillock and to reach either you can climb stairs or reach by lift. It is one of the oldest Shiva temple of Mumbai initially built in 12th century AD. The hillock is well connected by road. A must visit temple for all Shiva devotees.
Excellent temple of Lord Shiva. Very old, well maintained. You need to climb 100 odd steps. Else have a lift to go up at a nominal price of RS 1/- over all very nice twmple. Parking is an issue and u won't have parking space. Better to come by taxi
Beautiful, small, well maintained temple. Situated at the top of a hillock. Lift available with a ticket of 1 rupee. Calm in the midst of densely populated area. Actually the deities on the auxiliary Mandapam are awesome. Very unique. We were really awestruck. Don't miss this in your Mumbai visit.
Holy place.. Excellent temple of lord Shiva. Heritage structure. Located over the high land. Good view in the temple and outside. Very peaceful and calm place. People must visit and relax and meditate. Spacious and open place. Good for kids and children.
Very peaceful place.. Managed very well.. For seniors elevator are a available.. 98 stairs to climb up..
Over the years I've seen that Gujaratis are considering this temple as their private property. From sign boards to instructions all are getting written only in Gujarati. This is not fair. A Hindu temple belongs to all and preferring only one language will create issues for this temple later. United we stand, divided we fall.
Babulnath temple, Lord shivs one of the oldest shiv temple ,situated on hill where to go to the top climb 121 steps or go by lift , considered very auspicious for hindus in the month of shravan the month of fasting thousands visit this temple to take the blessing of the Lord.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is located on a hillock in malabar hill. Temple campus is a wonderful blend of ancient monument in modern city. A must visit for tourists to Mumbai.
One of the oldest and must visit temple in Mumbai and very much nearby from girgaum chowpaty. Nicely maintained by the temple trust. Lift services are available at Re.1, especially useful for senior citizens and handicapped people.
The best part of this temple is that you have a lift to go to the temple at the top. A big relief for heavy people like me. The liftman charges a token amount of Re 1 per person and the lift can be used for coming down also. While the temple is well maintained, the approach to the temple is not very pleasing. Inside the temple, you can offer Jal to the shiv ling. They have provision for the same and provide you with Lotas also. Babulnath temple is one of the oldest shiva temples in South bombay.Preferable days are weekdays otherwise it is too crowded on Tuesday also.calm and peace is here for sure. Very kind lord shiva grants every wish n showers blessings on devotees. The best surprising part is to reach the top of the hill there is an elevator. Lord Shiva is in the midst of Babul trees and hence the name. Lift facility at very nominal charge. Awesome spiritual bliss at the place must visit.

Nice serene place right in the middle of the chaos of South Bombay. Very near to Girgaon chowpatty beach. Go on a weekday evening to avoid rush. Enough place to sit and contemplate. Temple is on top of a small hill so many stairs have to be climbed. Elevator also available. Main deity is of Lord Shiva. Other deities are also there - Vishwarupa (universal form) of Lord Krishna shown to Arjuna while speaking Bhagavad Gita; Lakshmi Narayan and Goddess Parvati.
