La basilique Notre-Dame-du-Mont (en anglais : Mount Mary’s Church) est un édifice religieux catholique sis à Bandra, face à la mer, dans les faubourgs nord de la ville de Bombay, en Inde. De style néo-byzantin, l’église actuelle fut construite au début du XXe siècle et abrite une statue de Notre-Dame apportée du Portugal par les jésuites il y a quatre siècles. Centre très fréquenté de pèlerinage marial elle fut érigée en basilique mineure en 1954.
Au XVIe siècle, Bandra était un village de pêcheurs Koli. Aujourd’hui c’est un faubourg animé de la ville de Bombay (Mumbai), la grande métropole commerciale de l’Inde. Au XVIe siècle des missionnaires jésuites du Portugal, venant sans doute de Bassein, y apportent une statue en bois de Notre-Dame pour laquelle un modeste oratoire est érigé. Elle attire immédiatement des pèlerins.

Whenever my mind becomes demanding or something which I feel if feel bit disturbed , this place gives peace and answers to my disturbed mind.. I like this place for other reason as well because I like the atmosphere around. There are many churches, beaches and if you like to walk and absorb yourself there are beautiful pavements.. So try this beautiful I am sure you will have good time being here specially in evening or at night... Cheers

This is a place of refuge and solace for those troubled and terminally ill. A place of miracles. The Basilica itself is a marvellous edifice and a testament to the craftsmanship of the craftsman of their time. This is a busy place ofworship year round but come early September, the 9 day novenas begin, drawing millions and culminating on 8 September, being the birthday of Our Lady. This is a peaceful place where u can have a holy time and feel serene and blessed and the positive vibrations of the holy church can calm down anyone. One of the oldest monument of Mumbai. A place where I can see people coming from all religions. I have even seen Muslims coming here. One can spend max half an hour here and from here one can reach bandstand within few minutes.

To reach here, I de-boarded at Bandra station and took a local auto. It is approximately 2.5 km. away. I had studied for 12 years in a convent school and we used to go to the chapel every day. As we grew up, it became difficult to spare some time to go to a church, and this church made me nostalgic and Mother Mary knows how many mixed feeling I was experiencing at that time. The church was truly a feast to the eye. The church has a beautiful and serene interior. It was very peaceful in there. It was truly like coming back home to your mother and finding that internal peace you were seeking for. I really liked the paintings of various instances of mother Mary’s life on the interior walls of the church. Apart from the beautiful, wooden statue of Mother Mary, what got my attention was the marble sculpture of the last supper by Jesus Christ. This Last Supper is finely detailed and is a must see for visitors.

Go here to find Nice chicks, Nice Woman, easy to make friends have a beer a few drinks nice conversation and some fun. Beach nearby offer peace and solitude Must go place if you are interested in babes and chicks, not good for praying or spirituality. A waste of time and just an eye wash.. but can be used to make friends and meet people.. more like a club than a spiritual place. Dont take it serious ... have fun.. meet good chicks and have fun.

Amazing church. Calm and serene. One feels relaxed once you visit this place. Very close to Bandra bandstand. Cool breeze keeps flowing which makes you feel fresh. Best time to visit is in the evening or night once the place is lit up. One can travel by rickshaw from Bandra railway station. Distance is around 2 to 3km from Bandra railway station.

Peaceful place. I love to visit this church on Sundays. It was a lovely positive vibe. Just sitting inside the church I gaze at Mother Mary's statue. She gives me strength. The color ful candle stalls outside sell some interesting sweets and relics.

Very near to Bandra Bandstand. So many people visit this place. This church is very quite and peaceful place so please try to maintain it. And in Christmas time it is having a spectacular view. So if possible please visit at that time, but be prepared to face the rush.

Mass held on Sundays and other special days. In the month of September, on the occasion of mother's birthday on September 8th, there is a fair held in the name of mother Mary. This fair is usually from Sunday to Sunday after the birthday. There is a chapel kind of place opposite the church where devotees can light candies and offer prayers/offerings.

It's a beautiful place at a hill sort of. It's quite n peaceful here, one can come with family n friends n just sit in peace, there are toilets n water facility inside. Also there is bandstand a sea shore nearby to sit n relax.
