In more recent times some people have lamented that the art of story telling has been lost amidst the rise of different technologies. Perhaps there is some truth in this – but I also wonder if perhaps it’s just the way we tell stories that has changed. One such medium for story telling in the time we live is digital photography. It is situated near Madh village. It is around 1 km walk from Madh bus stop. The fort was built by the Portuguese as a watchtower in the 17th century. It offers a strategic view of the coastline and guards the Marve Creek. Its external façade is intact but internally it is dilapidated. It is under control of the Indian Air Force as it is located close to an Indian Air Force base and permission is needed for accessing it. Madh Island fort is surrounded by local fishermen's communities.
