Fantastic from the front in the square but not really worth 3€ to see city views. Views good not worth 3 €
It’s very spectacular when (exactly at 17h or noon) figures at the building start moving along with nice music. Lots of people watch it every day. You should go and check the view on the top too.
Impressive building. Must to see in Munich. Good example of neo-gothic architecture style. You can go also to the tower for nice sightviews of Munich old town. In the building is the city municipal offices, restaurant, clock tower. In the city municipal part you can visit it for free.
One of the remarkable city hall with the number of beautiful steeple. Looks viatage gothic building in marien square. Impressive building with a monumental façade. The clock figurines work 3 times a day most of the year, mainly at 11h00 and 12h00.
Majestic and intricate building, a must-see in the city of Munich! Went during christmas and it was bustling with people, music and christmas markets!
Beautiful architecture! Great view of the city center (Marienplatz, St Peter Church, Frauenkirche, etc) from the observation deck of the tower. You can get there by an elevator, no stairs. The fee is 3 Euro. Tickets are sold at the nearby Information center.
This amazing town hall building is located just near the exit of Marienplatz U-bahn station. Very convenient. I had to evade a road-cleaning vehicle operated by a grumpy looking German man while taking photos here. Protip: the whole Munich inner city at Sunday mornings are VERY QUIET. Come here during that time to experience an atmosphere unlike any other. That, if you can deal with the road cleaner.
In and around this beautiful place. Just fantastic view heading to this place. It is beautiful to walk around Munich.
Neus Rathaus (New Town Hall) is a large Neo-Gothic building that dominates Marienplatz in the Old Town. Constructed during the second half of the 19th-century, this is one of the most beautiful buildings in Munich. The building stretches the length of Marienplatz and features a detailed facade richly decorated with Gothic features and statues of the Wittlesbach dynasty. It includes an impressive 85 metre tall clocktower where you find the famous Glockenspiel, a ornamental chiming clock which performs every 11am, 12pm and 5pm (during warmer months). This is so much fun to see, hear and experience and makes a rewarding addition to the already impressive building. I really enjoyed spending time admiring the exterior architecture of Neues Rathaus. It is a impressive Neo-Gothic building that is well remembered from our recent trip to Munich. As indicated above, it is worth timing visits to Neues Rathaus so that you can enjoy the Glockenspiel performances while you are there. Then spend the rest of your time seeing the monuments, fountains and other attractive buildings at Marienplatz.
Well worth the 3€ lift price. Very beautiful interior as well.
