It is a surprise to see city hall building full of history, art- painting and sculptures on the wall, stairways. Farm Market outside does have fruit and garden grower vendors, while a few food vendors are also on site, including pizza, sausage, cookie, etc. Free access bathroom is provided inside city hall building. Short walking distance from Basel train station or by TRAM 3, 8,11.

Beautiful, it is diamond for Basel. It is a pity because the square is too empty and not well illuminated. The building is amazing. It is a sehenswürdigkeit as they say in german! a better light would make this place more beautiful.

If you are going to Basilea, make sure to visit their City Hall, the palace with red facade located at the famous Markplatz Street, it's for free, with it's amazing frescoes on the wall, really worth a visit.
