Barefoot Landing is a large shopping complex located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It consists of several divided sections of stores and attractions located on filled land over top of Louis Lake, next to the Intracoastal Waterway. Barefoot Landing was previously known as the Village of the Barefoot Traders which was a collection of 15 unusual gift shops that was located on 3½ acres along a natural marsh and in 1988 was rebuilt and opened as Barefoot Landing. The complex, a popular tourist attraction, has over 100 stores and restaurants, on all sides of a small lake, plus it has adjoining areas with Alabama Theatre, House of Blues and Alligator Adventure.
Barefoot Landing was originally a residential area that had its own private marina, that was developed in the 1970s into a quaint "village" of shops. The Village of Barefoot Traders opened in March 1972 on 3-1/2 acres containing 15 shops surrounded by Louis Lake. In 1988, the entire area was redeveloped and expanded into a much larger complex, consolidated under a single owner, and was rebranded from The Village of Barefoot Traders to Barefoot Landing. Several unexploded bombs were unearthed during the construction of the resort. The bombs were left over from when the property was used as part of a bombing/gunnery range for the military.

Not what it used to be. Animals have very little water, if any. Off season and you would think they would be doing maintenance on the place. Week's worth of pig droppings in their pin. Can't even view the large crocodile for the algae on the window. A place I truly feel sorry for the animals.

Been here a few times over the years and always enjoy it. I usually go with my wife and will be taking our little one as soon as she is old enough. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Make sure to catch one of their shows!

Loved this! They have much more than alligators and we had a fabulous time walking around seeing everything. A must visit.

This place is awesome. Great learning experience. Awesome shows. A great place to bring the kids. The coolest thing to do in Myrtle Beach.

A very fun place to see. There is a lot to see and do there. You will have a lot of fun.

There a lot of alligators here of course. My family was very impressed with the largest one. There were many other animals to see as well. The park isn't very large in size. You should be able to see everything in about an hour. They do let you return on another day without charge to view the park again.

Pretty cool place. Been here a couple times and hey have tons of alligators, both regular and albino. They host feeding and education sessions, and tons of shows and more. The place is in the open and get zero breeze. On a nice hot summer day, it can feel like 105 degrees walking around —remember your sunscreen! Cool gift shop.

Very pricey! $96 for 4 adults with military discount. Kids 3 and under free. Lots of alligators! A show every hour on the hour. Lots more than just alligators, there's turtles, frogs, lizards, sloth, lynx, bobcat, owls, parrots, snakes, and more! Lots more. Gift shop is over priced, typical. Wonderful place and had lots of fun with the kids. About 2hrs walking thru, taking pics, with toddlers.

I love this place. Today was my second visit to Alligator Adventure and it still wows me. Tons of different species of crocs and alligators. They have plenty of snakes and a full reptile house too. The host shows at different times of thr day and all of their staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite exhibit was the Bobcats! They also have hyenas, turtles, parrots, lemurs and spider monkeys!! Very kid friendly and adults have a blast too! Every time I'm in Myrtle Beach, I plan on coming here.

Great for kids and adults of all ages....the price seems high for the size of the place, but its for 2 days. Also free wine taste at the place in the front included. Overall cool. The feeding and shows are a must to maximize the experienceriance. If you factor in the 2 day pass the shows and the wine taste its a steal...

This 2 star review is only because of having to deal with the front house personal!!! Very unprofessional... very hateful... not very good to have to deal with people that are so hateful...as you are entering the door of an establishment!! I am a local here at North Myrtle Beach ..and had brought guest from out of town!! Needles to say very embarrassed... that I chose this day to go .. Jenny was her name!! So Jenny I hope you get some training on customer service!! That being said once past Jenny’s bad hateful attitude the inside of the park was wonderful !! Everyone’s so pleasant inside alligator adventure.. If I ever decide to go back or take guest .. I will make sure Jenny is not working!! But that probably won’t happen!!

Very neat place I'd think anyone would enjoy this place they have gators from all over the world along with a huge reptile house an a snake building (which is the only part I didn't visit). It's very reasonably priced for what you get.

Really cool place, a TON of alligators, pun intended. Worth the money, find a few coupons before you go and follow the map and show schedule. I believe we showed up at 10-1030 and worked out perfect to hit all shows and follow the path around park easily. Was hot as expected, bring a hat and water. very few shaded areas.

Great zoo the all of the alligators looked like they were in great shape. They had hourly shows and demonstrations. The price was up there however they allow you to come back again within 7 days. They also have a deal with the winery next door for a free tasting which is sweet.

So worth while. It's not a huge park but if you aren't from the Southeast and haven't seen alligators before you'll have a good time for the day. We got to watch them eat and even hold a baby alligator. There were so many more alligators than I was expecting. Awesome Experience.

Very cool place they have gators from all over the world. With few other displays had some Hyenas when we were there. Its reasonably price to I was expecting admission to cost more. Even though we took the kids it would be a fun place for just adult to.

We visit here at least once every year. My daughter, who loves all things scaly or slimy, absolutely loves Aligator Adventure. The good: the staff is friendly, alligators are fun to watch, the reptile shows let your kids safely touch snakes and alligators, there are numerous other exotic (and some common) animals like cobras, hyenas, frogs, lizards, crocodiles, birds and tortoises. The cost of admission gets you in for a second time if you visit again within a week of your first visit. You can see everything here in less than six hours. The bad: if you have a family of four this half-day mini zoo could cost more than $100, depending on age. The concession stand is not especially cheap either (but it is on par for attraction concessions at the beach). It gets HOT in the summer; hydrate accordingly. The ugly: while many of the animals seem happy, there are definitely some very large animals in some very small enclosures. One of the largest crocodiles in captivity lives alone in an enclosure so small he can hardly turn around. So Alligator adventure is not perfect, but i still enjoy the excitement and wonder that it generates in kids.

This is a bit in the mid to higher range cost per person but if you have a love for reptiles or just animals in general. Its definitely the spot to go. You get to walk around and check out animals not native to the area such as crocodiles, different birds and more! They have multiple shows throughout the day that are informative and give you a chance to be hands on with some of the animals too!

This was my first time going to an Alligator Adventure my kids and I had a great time. This place was awesome. It really was an Alligator Adventure there were so many alligators there it was crazy. They even have a few other animals there to look at which was pretty cool and unexpected. The people there were friendly and very informative. They do a few shows a day with the animals. And when you go buy a ticket they give you a free ticket to come back another day within a week

We come every summer and always have a blast. It is a little pricey for one visit so take advantage of the offer to come back for a 2nd day for free if you can. Everything is clean and well cared for. Animals always seem in good health and happy. We miss the kangaroos though! The kids always love the opportunity to touch a juvenile alligator, snake, and tortoise. Great gift shop! Tons of parking!

Awesome place! This is by far one of our favorite places in MB! It’s such a neat place and fun for all ages. Go early in your vacation week. They give you a voucher to come back another day within 7 days! Highly recommend!

Anybody from upstate New York that goes to Myrtle Beach needs to go to alligator adventures! The place is so awesome.! It is easy for anybody with a disability to get around. I'm disable and had a great time. So much to do and see. There is more than just alligators to see. The staff awesome. Feeding time is unbelievable! And if tired and cannot see all in one day. They all allow you to come back within a week for free with your receipt. A lot places around it to go see. Alot great places to go and eat around it also. I highly recommend visiting while your in Myrtle Beach. Its worth going with family.
